Should you start Conner, Brown, or Corum in Week 1? Let's dive in.

Should I Start James Conner for Fantasy Football?

Starting James Conner in Week 1 against the Bills is a smart decision because he’s expected to be a central figure in the Cardinals' offense. Conner's role as the primary running back means he'll likely see a high volume of touches both on the ground and in the passing game, which increases his chances of racking up valuable fantasy points.

Despite the challenging matchup, his opportunity for a significant workload and potential red-zone touches make him a reliable option for your lineup, offering a solid foundation for a strong start to the fantasy season.

Conner is a three-down, workhorse-style running back on the field for almost every Cardinals offensive play.

He is the RB18 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Chase Brown for Fantasy Football?

Starting Chase Brown in Week 1 against the Patriots may not be the best choice because his role in the offense is expected to be minimal. With the Patriots' strong defensive front, Brown might struggle to make an impact if he gets limited touches.

Additionally, Zach Moss has been named the starting running back, which means Brown is likely to see a reduced workload. Moss will handle the majority of the carries and opportunities, leaving Brown with potentially insufficient involvement to provide significant fantasy value in this matchup.

Brown will be an excellent weapon for the Bengals as the season progresses, but Chase should remain on your bench for Week 1 for fantasy purposes until his role becomes more apparent.

He is the RB32 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.

Should I Start Blake Corum for Fantasy Football?

Starting Blake Corum in Week 1 against the Lions could be risky given his rookie status and potential limited role in the offense. As a newcomer, Corum may face a learning curve and could see fewer opportunities early in the season.

Kyren Williams has been named the starter for the Rams, which means Williams is expected to handle the bulk of the carries and offensive responsibilities. With Williams taking the lead role, Corum’s involvement is likely to be limited, making him a less reliable option for fantasy managers in the opening week.

Just like Chase Brown, it will take a few weeks until Corum is fully involved in the Rams' offensive game plan. Keep the rookie on your bench for Week 1, but expect him to come into his own in the second half of the season.

He is the RB39 in our half-PPR consensus staff rankings.
