Josh Allen Injury Update for Fantasy Football
Following a hit he took late in the team's Week 17 win, Allen had to leave the game for a few plays after suffering a neck stinger. He returned shortly after, and he's not expected to miss practice despite dealing with soreness.
Head coach Sean McDermott said he anticipates that Allen will play in Week 18 for the AFC East division title. While he is still dealing with some soreness and could experience it throughout the week, it isn't severe enough to keep their franchise quarterback out of the biggest game of the year.
Josh Allen Fantasy Football Outlook
In Week 17, Allen finished with 22 fantasy points despite throwing for just 169 yards, thanks to his two rushing touchdowns. This was tied for the second-lowest total yards he put up all season, but his goal line usage allows Allen to produce even when he's not lighting it up.
The Bills take on the Dolphins in Week 18 for the AFC East division title and the number two seed, and Miami allows the 11th-most points per game to quarterbacks this season. In their Week 4 meeting, Allen had his second-best game of the season with 36 fantasy points. The 27-year-old threw for 320 yards and four touchdowns in this game, along with adding a touchdown on the ground.
With significant implications – a loss could put them out of the playoffs, while a win secures the number two seed – Allen is set to play even with a neck stinger. The star quarterback remains one of the best options ahead of this playoff-like game in Week 18.
