Garrett Wilson fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 5 (2024). Should you start or sit Garrett Wilson for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: WR1
ANALYSIS: Fantasy managers should still view Garrett Wilson as a WR1 option in Week 5, despite his recent struggles. Wilson's talent and role as the top wide receiver for the Jets make him a must-start, especially in PPR leagues where target volume is key.
Last week, he saw eight targets, catching five passes for 41 yards, and while those numbers may not jump off the page, his consistent involvement in the passing game is encouraging. The Jets' offense has shown signs of life, and Wilson remains the most reliable weapon for quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Against the Vikings in Week 5, who have struggled to contain wide receivers this season, Wilson has a great opportunity to bounce back and put up WR1 numbers.
However, fantasy managers should keep an eye on the possibility of Davante Adams being traded to the Jets, a move that could significantly impact Wilson's future value.
While the arrival of Adams would bolster the Jets’ offense overall, it would likely lead to fewer targets for Wilson, reducing his upside as a WR1.
For now, though, with no trade yet in place, Wilson remains a high-volume option and a must-start this week against a vulnerable Vikings secondary. Fantasy managers should feel safe starting Wilson this week.
