Players to Target in Trades for Fantasy Football
Cam Skattabo, RB, Giants
New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo rushed 19 times for 98 yards and three touchdowns during Thursday's upset victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. He also caught each of his two targets, totaling 12 receiving yards. The rookie held onto his lead-back role despite Tyrone Tracy Jr. (shoulder) returning to action.
Between his large volume, high efficiency, and nose for the end zone, Skattebo has proven that he deserves to be the bell-cow running back in New York. He has established himself as a potential fantasy football league-winner and should rank as a fringe top-12 running back against the Broncos in Week 7.
Verdict: target in all leagues as true breakout candidate
Jaxson Dart, QB, Giants
New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has helped his team to two big home wins over the Chargers and Eagles in his three games since taking over as starting QB, but he also lost a game on the road to the Saints. In Week 6, he threw for 195 yards and a touchdown in New York's Thursday Night Football upset of the Eagles and added 58 yards and a rushing score to help him be one of the highest scoring quarterbacks of the week.
His rushing potential makes him a good fantasy play in almost any matchup since he brings both a high ceiling and a high floor. This week, he faces a very tough matchup, though, against the Broncos, who just shut down Jalen Hurts and Justin Fields to win their last two games. The game will also be in Denver, which will surely be a hostile environment for the rookie.
Dart has shown enough to be worth a look as a second QB or bye-week fill-in off the waiver wire, even in this tough matchup. Looking further ahead, he'll have a tough rematch with the Eagles on the road in Week 8 before matchups with the 49ers and Bears that look a little more favorable. Even if he isn't an elite play in those matchups, his rushing production is enough to keep him as a viable fantasy option in most formats.
Verdict: target in superflex leagues
Quinshon Judkins, RB, Browns
Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins turned in a slow outing in a 23-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. Judkins carried the ball 12 times for just 36 yards while failing to catch his lone target on a rough afternoon for the Cleveland offense against their division rivals. The slow outing was Judkins' first dud since he signed his contract before Week 2, as the rookie had been remarkably consistent up until Week 6.
He will look to bounce back against a Miami Dolphins defense that is allowing the fifth-most fantasy points per game to opposing running backs in 2025. Judkins can be treated as a low-end RB1 heading into Week 7.
Verdict: target in all leagues as a running back anchor
Other Players to Target in Trades
- Rome Odunze
- Bucky Irving
- Derrick Henry
- Kimani Vidal
- Jacory Corskey-Merritt
Players to Trade Away for Fantasy Football
Rico Dowdle, RB, Panthers
Carolina Panthers head coach Dave Canales told reporters on Friday that the coaching staff has determined who will start at running back on Sunday in Week 7 against the New York Jets and get most of the reps between Rico Dowdle and Chuba Hubbard, according to David Newton of ESPN. The Panthers are trying to keep a competitive advantage, so they are keeping things close to the vest as far as their backfield plans.
Hubbard missed the last two games with a calf injury and was limited in practice on Wednesday and Thursday before upgrading to a full practice on Friday, so that could indicate that Dowdle will see the majority of backfield touches this weekend.
That would make sense, especially since Dowdle went for 400-plus scrimmage yards and two scores on 60 total touches the last two weeks with Hubbard out. Fantasy managers should keep Dowdle in their starting lineups, while Hubbard will be more of an RB3/flex in his return.
Verdict: sell-high with Chubba Hubbard ready to return soon and share touches
Deebo Samuel, WR, Commanders
Washington Commanders wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) was not at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, according to The Athletic's Ben Standig. Samuel was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice as well, so this puts his availability firmly up in the air for the Week 7 game this Sunday against the division-rival Dallas Cowboys.
The 29-year-old was questionable leading up to the Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears, too, although he suited up. Samuel played 70% of the offensive snaps, but he didn't look right, and caught only four passes for 15 yards in the one-point loss.
With Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) potentially missing a fourth straight game, Washington could be looking at Luke McCaffrey and rookie Jaylin Lane leading their WR corps against Dallas if Samuel cannot play. Samuel may need to get in some practice on Friday to avoid being ruled out entirely this weekend.
Verdict: sell-high as injury risk and McLaurin eventually returning
Emeka Egbuka, WR, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Emeka Egbuka (hamstring) was seen working off to the side with trainers during Friday's practice, per Greg Auman of FOX Sports. The standout rookie was labeled as a non-participant on Thursday, so it's encouraging to see him upgrade his practice status a day later.
While Egbuka hasn't explicitly been ruled out for the team's matchup with the Lions on Monday Night Football, the expectation is that he won't be available. That could change, and the Bucs could certainly use him, considering fellow wideout Chris Godwin (leg) and running back Bucky Irving (foot, shoulder) also aren't expected to play.
Fortunately, Tampa Bay is on track to get veteran Mike Evans (hamstring) back in the fold, but fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on the Ohio State product's designation ahead of his game in Week 7.
Verdict: sell-high as injury risk and Evans returning
Other Players to Trade Away
- Jordan Mason
- Xavier Worthy
- Ladd McConkey
