Week 9 FLEX Rankings Outlooks
TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots
New England Patriots rookie running back TreVeyon Henderson is "in line for a bigger workload" in the Week 9 game on Sunday against the visiting Atlanta Falcons with backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson (toe) officially ruled out, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. If Henderson is for some reason available on your league's waiver wire, you should be picking him up immediately and inserting him into your starting fantasy lineup this weekend with Stevenson out.
The 23-year-old Henderson, who was a second-round pick this year out of Ohio State, hasn't really impressed all that much in his first eight NFL games and has had ball-security issues, but increased volume in a strong offense warrants attention. He comes into this weekend with 228 rushing yards and a touchdown on 53 carries while adding 16 catches for 99 yards through the air. Atlanta's defense has allowed the 11th-most half-PPR fantasy points per game to opposing RBs, too.
Troy Franklin, Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos second-year wide receiver Troy Franklin has drawn real attention off the waiver wire in fantasy leagues over the last two weeks after catching nine of his 18 targets for 108 yards and three touchdowns in wins over the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants. Franklin's chemistry with quarterback Bo Nix from their days in college at Oregon is starting to manifest itself after a lackluster rookie campaign in 2024.
Through eight weeks, the 22-year-old ranks second behind Courtland Sutton in receiving yards for Denver with 358, and he leads the Broncos with his four touchdowns. Franklin is now rostered in just under 50% of fantasy leagues on Yahoo, and with Marvin Mims Jr. now dealing with a concussion and questionable to play in Week 9 against the Houston Texans, he could find the end zone for a third straight week. Disclaimer: Since Franklin's last 89-yard performance in Week 2, he failed to eclipse 50 receiving yards in four of five games.
Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Christian Watson (knee) made his season debut last week and looks to build off his excellent first outing of 2025 as the Packers host the Carolina Panthers in Week 9. Watson, off the injury report after three limited practice sessions this week, returned to the Packers' lineup to post a 4-85 line on four targets in Week 8 following an ACL injury that ended his 2024 season before the playoffs.
Watson's role downfield is one where he can accumulate a ton of fantasy production with limited targets. Still, the Packers' passing game, with limited pass attempts and being well behind players like Tucker Kraft and Romeo Doubs, makes it difficult to start Watson in most weeks, even with bye weeks in full swing. For the Packers' Week 9 matchup against the Panthers, consider Watson a low-end flex play.
