Fantasy Baseball Streamers - Waiver Wire Picks for Thursday 8/26

Top daily fantasy baseball streamers and waiver wire adds for 8/26/21. Dave Swan identifies MLB hitters and starting pitchers to stream based on matchups.

Sadly, baseball is nearing an end, and fantasy managers in daily leagues, no doubt, already have holes to fill with streamers. Fortunately, RotoBaller has you covered with daily fantasy baseball streaming picks.

Each day, RotoBaller will provide you with some of the best streaming options to consider in fantasy baseball daily leagues. Additionally, these recommendations can be helpful for fantasy managers setting MLB DFS lineups

We have a 12-game slate Thursday, with some weather concerns. Fortunately, there are quite a few streamable players, with 24 teams taking the field. This article will use rostered percentages and position eligibility from Yahoo! leagues.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Hitter Streamers for 8/26 - Shallow Leagues

Kolten Wong (2B, MIL) - 40% rostered

Matchup: at RHP Sonny Gray

Streaming a leadoff hitter from a first-place offense is an ideal play. Additionally, Wong is on a heater as well. In the last two weeks, Wong is 14-for-44 with three dingers and 20 runs+RBI. That's pretty crazy production for a leadoff hitter, let alone a streamer. Furthermore, against RHP, Wong showcases a .330 wOBA and .170 ISO.

Nicky Lopez (2B/SS, KC) - 39% rostered

Matchup:at LHP Yusei Kikuchi

Who has the need for speed? Lopez has found his stride in that department. In fact, he is a perfect 18 for 18 in SB attempts and doesn't look to be slowing down. Even better, he's firmly planted himself in the two-hole of the KC lineup. Will he take one deep? Not likely, but if you're chasing SB and runs, this is the streaming infielder for you.

Daulton Varsho (C/OF, ARI) - 43% rostered

Matchup: at RHP Zach Eflin

Whether you need help at catcher or outfield, Varsho has a dynamic skill set that'll play. His ability to swipe a bag or take one deep makes him one of my favorite daily streamers. Since getting every day playing time, Varsho is striking out less(23%) and walking more(13%). We are seeing all the signs pointing to a high-end prospect growing into an MLB player. Additionally, he gets a matchup against Eflin, who is coming off a lengthy IL stint and could show some rust.

Anthony Santander (OF, BAL) - 38% rostered

Matchup: vs. RHP Jaime Barria

If you're solely looking for HRs, Santander is the play for you; and for plenty of good reasons. He has a 9.5% barrel rate and .208 ISO. Furthermore, he has been clubbing pitches into the stands at a frequent pace. His eight HRs in the last month also come with a .325 batting average. Lastly, he will be swinging his bat in the HR-friendly confines of Camden Yards. Scoop him up; he could give you the added thump you desire for the rest of the season.

Andrew Vaughn (1B/OF, KC) - 36% rostered

Matchup: at LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu

The word must not have spread about Vaughn's destruction of southpaws. If everyone knew, he wouldn't be available in 64% of Yahoo leagues. In 101 ABs vs. LHP, Vaughn touts a robust 1.055 OPS with eight HRs. Furthermore, he draws a matchup against Ryu, who has been spotty at times. Ryu gives up earned runs in bunches if the changeup isn't there, and Vaughn will exploit.

Hitter Streamers for 8/26 - Deeper Leagues

Miguel Rojas (SS, MIA) - 15% rostered

Matchup: vs. LHP Patrick Corbin

Rojas is a tremendous source of batting average and speed. Both, very difficult to stream! Additionally, Rojas does a great job of putting balls in play and batting atop the Marlins lineup. While the Marlins are not a juggernaut offense, you can't overlook the matchup. Corbin has looked decent as of late, but when he loses command, and the sinker isn't causing groundballs, it gets ugly quickly.

Jo Adell (OF, LAA) - 16% rostered

Matchup: at RHP Keegan Akin

This is an absolute dice roll with Adell. He has been a stud prospect. We've all been waiting to see a breakout, and the Angels have no reason to hinder his playing time. Lately, the ball has been jumping off bats in Camden Yards, and a matchup against Keegan Akin can make anyone seem like a star. If you're looking for that deep deep-league pickup that could help today and win you a league, it's Adell.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/26 - Shallow Leagues

Miles Mikolas (SP, STL) - 31% rostered

Matchup: at Pittsburgh Pirates

Mikolas is not going to dazzle you with a double-digit strikeout performance. But he keeps the ball slow and low enough to induce plenty of ground balls. Additionally, the Pirates are weaker on the slate, as shown by their 68 wRC+ and .270 wOBA vs. RHP in the previous 14 days. Outside of Bryan Reynolds, there is little to nothing scary in this lineup. Furthermore, Mikolas' lengthy IL stint should wipe away any concerns about innings limits. I would expect solid five-plus innings of work and a terrific chance to pick up the win.

Pitcher Streamers for 8/26 - Deeper Leagues

Brad Keller (SP, KC) - 19% rostered

Matchup: at Seattle Mariners

On the opposite side of Mikolas is Keller, whose 5.43 ERA and 1.65 WHIP don't look streamer-worthy. However, Keller has done a better job at limiting the walks. Since July, Keller is throwing his sinker less and has increased the usage on his four-seam fastball. Why is this important? Well, it's a tick faster and generates way more whiffs than the sinker. While it's a small sample, his last two starts showcase a 31% K-rate and 53% ground balls rate.
