FanDuel NBA DFS Lineup Picks (2/6/18): Daily Fantasy Basketball Advice

Daniel Marcus highlights the top FanDuel NBA DFS lineup picks for 2/6/18, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

For the second consecutive week, the Tuesday slate will be busier than usual. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean there are a lot of obvious value propositions. While news throughout the day may change that, many injury fill-ins have had their prices hiked to a point where they are no longer standout options. Tyler Ulis stands out as one specific exception, with the possibility of Trey Burke also entering punt consideration if Frank Ntilikina is ruled out.

That said, I'll be playing this slate mostly safe and with a cash game mindset. I'll likely lock in both James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo (or another stud if his injury scares you) and fill in from there with mid-priced options. Below are some plays to consider in doing so.

Below you will find our daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for FanDuel on 2/6/18. These DFS lineup picks can vary from higher-priced players and elite options, to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Guards

Tyler Ulis PG - @LAL ($3,700)

Ulis has a lot of flaws as a player, specifically his size and lack of shooting ability. However, the combination of Devin Booker being sidelined and Ulis’ dirt cheap price tag should cause fantasy owners to dig a bit deeper. The matchup with the Lakers only makes the case stronger for Ulis as the Lakers and Suns are the two of the three highest paced teams in the league, leaving a lot of upside for Ulis to return big value on his minuscule price tag.

Klay Thompson SG - vs. OKC ($6,700)

The Thunder are allowing opposing shooting guards/wings to shoot very well from the field in the absence of Andre Roberson. For example, on Friday, E'twaun Moore shot 10-for-14 from the field en route to putting up 26 points. Just the night before, Gary Harris posted a similarly impressive 9-for-16 line while dropping 25 points. Thompson is priced at a point where he isn’t going to smash value for 7X in all likelihood, but he is priced lowest among the reliable SGs and is in a spot where he can efficiently reach value.

Josh Hart SG - vs. PHO ($5,000)

Navigating the Lakers’ rotation is something like walking through a virtual minefield, but it certainly appears that Josh Hart has reemerged as a sweetheart in Luke Walton’s eyes in the absence of Lonzo Ball. Unlike some other players with injuries, we already know Ball will be out again on Tuesday, which keeps Hart in play. Pace of play and a generally good environment for offense has already been discussed for this game, so plugging in Hart here even with a price increase is in play.

Also Consider: Chris Paul PG- @BKN ($9,600)

FanDuel DFS Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo SF - @NY ($11,500)

Giannis’ injury is a concern after he twisted his ankle in Sunday’s win over the Nets. However, he said he could have re-entered the game if necessary and that appears to be backed by the team as he enters Tuesday probable to take the floor against the Knicks. Prior to his injury shortened evening on Sunday, he had posted more than 50 FD points in four of five games, the last of which came even with Jabari Parker back in the lineup. Watch news throughout the day but Giannis is a lock for me if the news trends positively regarding his status for the game.

JaMychal Green PF - @ATL ($4,900)

Early Tuesday, the options at power forward are uninspiring. There could be news that changes that throughout the day, but for now I’ll turn to Green. He has regained his standard minutes workload, right around 27 per game, and will be in a positive matchup against the Hawks. There isn’t a lot of upside here but PF looks like a good position to punt on this slate and  go cheap and safe. Green checks both those boxes with Deyonta Davis remaining out due to injury.

Also Consider: DeMarre Carroll SF- vs. HOU ($5,300)

FanDuel DFS Centers

Al Horford C - @TOR ($7,700)

Horford has been a reliable option all season and a very frequent cash play as a result. In the three games Kyrie Irving has missed, has returned 5.2, 5.3, and 5.7X value respectively, showing he does have some upside to his game. While his record with Irving on the floor isn’t quite as strong, he still is a strong cash game option. Watch news on Irving throughout the day, and if he can’t go Horford becomes a relatively easy choice here. If Irving is out, I’d shift to looking at Marc Gasol in GPP contests.
