FanDuel Lineup Picks (Week 2) - NFL DFS Advice

FanDuel NFL DFS lineup picks and start 'em, sit' em for Week 2. Daily fantasy football sleepers and lineups cheat sheet for FanDuel DFS GPPs and tournaments.

Welcome to RotoBaller's daily fantasy football FanDuel lineup picks for Week 2 of the NFL season. In this article I will be taking you through the best FanDuel DFS plays of the week for this upcoming Sunday.

These FanDuel lineup recommendations are based on matchups, recent performances, overall upside/talent levels, and other factors such as Vegas odds, home field advantage, and more.

Good luck with your FanDuel DFS lineups!

FanDuel Quarterback - Week 2 DFS Picks

Matt Ryan (vs GB, $8,200)

Ryan was disappointing in Week One against the Bears, but for those paying attention that shouldn’t have come as a huge surprise. The Bears have been surprisingly good at suppressing passing output to number one receivers, and with the game at home they were able to hang on to the ball for nearly 50/50 time of possession split with the Falcons. In contrast, the Falcons will come home this week to open up their new building, which should allow them to do a better job of dictating their preferred pace of play. That should help Ryan and this entire offense against a vulnerable Packers’ secondary.

Phillip Rivers (vs MIA, $7,000)

The Dolphins allowed nearly two passing touchdowns per game last season, a mark that was in the bottom third among NFL teams last season. Besides this positive matchup, Rivers’ price is a main drawing point as he offers elite upside as a home favorite while coming at around $2,000 discounts from the likes of Ryan, Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and Aaron Rodgers.

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 2 DFS Picks

Ezekiel Elliot (@ DEN, $8,700)

Zeke’s volume is as safe as it can get as he touched the ball 29 times in Week 1, allowing him to score 16.5 points without finding the end zone. That gives him a great floor for cash games but there is also upside this week as the matchup against Denver is not as daunting as many would believe. The Broncos finished in the bottom half of the NFL in terms of both yards and TDs allowed to running backs last season and they allowed Melvin Gordon to find the end zone through the air last week.

Marshawn Lynch (vs. NYJ, $7,200)

Marshawn Lynch is a risky season-long proposition but that risk significantly decreases when relying on him on only a weekly basis. Lynch got the ball in his hands 19 times last week and averaged just over four yards per carry. Meanwhile, the Jets got gashed by LeSean McCoy in Week 1 to the tune of 5.0 yards per carry. As a 13.5 point favorite heading into Sunday’s game, Lynch is a good bet to find the end zone which only adds to his upside. The only downside to Lynch is that he almost certainly won’t be involved in the passing game.

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 2 DFS Picks

DeSean Jackson (vs CHI, $6,700)

Despite the nice things previously said about the Bears secondary, last season they struggled mightily against deep threat wide receivers. Some of the notable performances they allowed last season include: Will Fuller 107 yards and a touchdown, Terrence Williams four catches for 88 yards, T.Y. Hilton 171 yards and a touchdown, and Jackson himself managed five catches for 114 yards against them last season as a member of the Redskins. With Mike Evans being a fade this week at $8,500, Jackson is a nice way to buy a piece of the Bucs’ offense.

Martavis Bryant (vs. MIN, $6,200)

Bryant didn’t get off to a great start in 2017, as he managed just two catches for 14 yards against the Browns. However, he and the Steelers return home this weekend. There has truly been no place like home for Martavis Bryant in his short career as he has scored 12 touchdowns in 11 career home games and averaged 71 yards per game. Bryant’s ownership should be deflated thanks to his disappointing Week 1 performance, making him a great tournament play this weekend.

FanDuel Tight End - Week 2 DFS Pick

Julius Thomas (@ SD, $5,000)

The Chargers have very strong outside cover corners, which will likely make life difficult for DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills this weekend. However, their inside corners had trouble covering anyone in Week 1 in their matchup against the Broncos as they allowed slot receiver Bennie Fowler to score two touchdowns. Additionally, despite lacking elite options at the tight end position, three Broncos tight ends combined for five catches and 98 yards. That brings Thomas into the conversation as a punt option at tight end with an under the radar chance of finding the end zone.

FanDuel Defense - Week 2 DFS Pick

Baltimore Ravens D/ST (vs CLE, $4,700)

The Jaguars and Texans features one of the lowest totals on the entire slate. While the Texans defense is appropriately priced as the highest on the main slate, the Jaguars are priced all the way down at $4,100. Tom Savage shouldn't scare anyone, and the Jaguars are a young defense on the rise that bulked up on both the defensive line and in the secondary.
