FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (7/23/16): MLB DFS Advice

Welcome back to another day of daily fantasy baseball. With a small three game slate today we are going to focus on the 12 game main slate in this article.

After a couple day with limited pitching options we have a loaded slate of elite pitching lead by Jose Fernandez, Max Scherzer and Chris Sale who all sit as home favorites in terrific spots. Who to choose? Let's dig in.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for FanDuel on 7/23/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on FanDuel.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target for FanDuel

Arizona Diamondbacks Top of the Order vs. Keyvius Sampson (Reds)

Outside of the Coors game, the D Backs are one of the top stacking options on the day. They get a golden opportunity to rack up the runs vs. Keyvius Sampson making his first start of the season. He has come out of the bullpen making seven appearances, pitching to a 5.51 ERA, 6.30 xFIP and has shown a total lack of control with a horrible 7.71 BB/9 rate.

Colorado Rockies vs. Matt Wisler (Braves)

The first two games of the series have actually stay under the total but don't expect that trend to continue on Saturday. The Rockies get an elite matchup vs. Matt Wisler and should be able to get into the Braves bullpen fairly early. Wisler has struggling mightily lately giving up 11 earned runs in his last two starts including five home runs. His ERA has dropped to 4.67 for the season with an xFIP(4.86) that is actually worse. The usual suspects are in play(Story, Blackmon, Cargo, LeMahieu, Hundley).

Also Consider - Washington Nationals vs. Edwin Jackson

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider for FanDuel

Max Scherzer (SP, WSH) $11,800

Scherzer comes in at a small discount from Fernandez and has a better overall matchup. He will face the Padres who currently rank in the bottom five in wOBA, ISO, and wRC+ vs. right handed pitching and have lost four straight going into Friday night. Things don't look positive for the Padres as Scherzer has been red hot lately limiting opponents to one earned run or less in seven of his last eight starts with an elite 11.8 K/9 rate. He is safe in all formats.

John Lackey (SP, CHC) $8,800

While he has struggled and has been hit hard lately he has still salvaged 28+ FanDuel points in three of his last four games with the strikeouts he provides. He will be in a great spot to pick up his first win since June 8th on Saturday night as the Cubs are early -152 favorites in Milwaukee. It is always nice to see a pitcher with high strikeout upside(9.24 K/9) going up against a team that K's a ton. The Brewers are striking out 26.2% of the time vs. right handed pitching which is close to two full percent more than the next worst team.

Also Consider - David Pric

DFS Infielders to Consider for FanDuel

Chris Gimenez (C, CLE) $2,100

On a night where you are going  to want to roster one of the elite stud pitchers you are going to need some salary relief. Catcher is a great spot to punt, especially when you can get a guy who is riding a three game hit streak.

David Ortiz (1B, BOS) $4,400

Having his best statistical season since 2009 and is the front runner for MVP in the American League. He is currently slashing .330/.423/.673 with 24 home runs and 79 RBI. He crushes right handed pitching and has three home runs vs. Nolasco in 13 career at bats.

Jean Segura (2B, ARI) $3,100

Segura comes into this game with hits in four straight including multiple hit efforts in three straight. He hits right handed pitching much better with a .353 wOBA and 116 wRC+ and will face a struggling pitcher making his first start of the season. At $3,100 he is safe in all formats.

Trevor Story (SS, COL) $4,000

If you are targeting Coors Field tonight, and you really should, Story makes perfect sense. He has crazy power upside and has hit three home runs in his last five games. He now gets to face Matt Wisler who has allowed 11 earned runs(five home runs) in his last two starts.

Danny Valencia (3B, OAK) $3,100

One of the top values at the position at just over $3K and he sits in a great spot tonight. He absolutely crushes left handed pitching with a .438 wOBA and 181 wRC+ on the season. He gets an elite matchup tonight against Dew Smyly who has a 9.15 ERA and 18.5% HR/FB rate during his current four game losing streak.

DFS Outfielders to Consider for FanDuel

Carlos Gonzalez (OF, COL) $4,200

Cargo has a hit in all four games during the Rockies current homestand and will get a premium spot to extend the streak on Saturday. The Rockies will face Matt Wisler who has been horrific lately allowing 11 earned runs in his last two starts including five home runs.

Billy Hamilton (OF, CIN) $3,200

Since being moved back up to the two hole in the order Hamilton has been on a tear. In those 12 games he has recorded 15 hits with nine runs scored and added a whopping eight stolen bases. The price is still very affordable making him a high floor play in all formats.

Dexter Fowler (OF, CHC) $3,300

He made his return to the lineup after a month absence and picked up right where he left off. He recorded three hits in four plate appearances including a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. The price won't stay this low for long so take advantage while you can.
