DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/30/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

matt olson fantasy baseball rankings draft sleepers mlb injury news

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on September 30, 2023. Josh's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Happy Saturday, RotoBallers! We had a jam-packed 13-game main slate on Friday, and Saturday should be more of the same, albeit in a slightly smaller sample. This is the last Saturday of the regular season, so let's end on a high note!

This article contains my picks for the 11-game main slate on Saturday, September 30, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:10 PM ET.

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Clayton Kershaw, LAD at SF ($10,800 DK, $10,200 FD)

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw is having yet another strong season, posting an ERA under 3.00 for the 13th time in his career. Kershaw is not as dominant as he once was, posting his highest BB/9 since 2010, but he is still preventing runs as well as anyone in baseball. The Dodgers starter faces the San Francisco Giants on Saturday. In the last 30 days, the Giants have the sixth-lowest OPS and ninth-highest strikeout rate against left-handed pitching. Kershaw should do well in this matchup.

Kyle Gibson, BAL vs. BOS ($7,400 DK, $8,000 FD)

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Gibson faces the Boston Red Sox on Saturday. The Red Sox have the lowest OPS and wOBA against right-handed pitching in the last month. The Sox also have the fifth-highest strikeout rate against righties in that span. Gibson has had an up-and-down season but has been pitching well lately. The Orioles starter has allowed three earned runs or fewer in five of his last six starts. Gibson should find success in Saturday's contest.

Others to consider: Joe Boyle ($7,800 DK, $7,400 FD) at LAA

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Matt Olson - 1B, ATL vs. WSH ($6,400 DK, $4,400 FD)

Atlanta Braves first baseman Matt Olson faces Washington Nationals starting pitcher Joan Adon on Saturday. Olson has been one of the best hitters in baseball against right-handed pitching in the last 30 days. The Braves first baseman has the highest batting average and second-highest OPS among batters with at least 65 plate appearances against righties. Olson also leads the league in home runs against righties since the start of September. The Braves slugger should have no issues producing on Saturday.

Rafael Devers - 3B, BOS at BAL ($5,000 DK, $3,500 FD)

Boston Red Sox third baseman Rafael Devers faces Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Gibson on Saturday. In his career against Gibson, Devers is 6-for-15 (.400) with two doubles and two RBI. The Red Sox third baseman has had a good season, hitting over .270 with 33 home runs and 34 doubles. Despite his strong year, Devers is amid a slump to finish the season, collecting only one hit in his last five games, but Saturday is as good a day as any to break out of it. Expect a strong performance.

Luis Garcia - 2B, WSH at ATL ($3,400 DK, $2,700 FD)

Washington Nationals second baseman Luis Garcia faces Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Spencer Strider on Saturday. In his career against Strider, Garcia is 4-for-10 (.400) with two home runs and three RBI. Garcia is only batting .265 on the season but has been hitting well lately, batting .389 with a home run and a double in the last seven days. Strider is a formidable opponent for anyone to face, but Garcia has found success against him and is a substantial value on Saturday.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Yordan Alvarez - OF, HOU at ARI ($5,800 DK, $4,000 FD)

Houston Astros outfielder Yordan Alvarez faces Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Merrill Kelly on Saturday. Alvarez has never faced Kelly, but the Astro lefty slugger has consistently shown the ability to mash against righties. In the last 30 days, Alvarez has the highest OPS, SLG, wOBA, and wRC+ against right-handed pitching. Kelly is a good pitcher and has had a decent year, but Alvarez is simply one of the most dangerous hitters in baseball. The Astros slugger could be in for a big day on Saturday.

Juan Soto - OF, SD at CWS ($5,200 DK, $4,300 FD)

San Diego Padres outfielder Juan Soto faces Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Mike Clevinger on Saturday. Soto has only had two plate appearances against Clevinger, going 1-for-2 (.500) with a double and an RBI. Soto is also among the league's best against right-handed pitching. The Padres slugger has slashed .353/.451/.706 with the fifth-highest OPS and wOBA against righties in the last 30 days. Soto should have no problem finding success on Saturday.

TJ Friedl - OF, CIN at STL ($4,600 DK, $3,600 FD)

Cincinnati Reds outfielder TJ Friedl faces St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Drew Rom on Saturday. Rom has given up four or more earned runs in three of his last four starts, including 11 earned runs in his two outings. Friedl has been on fire, batting .500 with four home runs and eight RBI in the last seven days. In his previous 22 plate appearances against left-handed pitching, Friedl is batting .529 with two home runs, a double, a triple, and seven RBI. Friedl is among the best options on Saturday.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Atlanta Braves vs. Joan Adon

Washington Nationals right-handed starter Joan Adon must navigate a Braves lineup with hitters like Ronald Acuna Jr., Matt Olson, and Austin Riley. Quintana will also pitch at Truist Park on Saturday. The Braves have been the best home team in baseball this year, owning the highest batting average, OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ at home. The Braves are the toughest matchup in the league, so Adon will undoubtedly have his hands full on Saturday.
