DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (9/14/23): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Kevin Gausman - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, MLB Injury News

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on September 14, 2023. Mike's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

We have an interesting nightcap in store for us on our Thursday night, mostly thanks to FanDuel putting the first game of the doubleheader between the Yankees and Red Sox on their afternoon slate and leaving the second game off completely. DraftKings did the opposite. So, yeah...interesting.

This article contains my picks for the five-game main slate on Thursday, September 14, 2023, for both DraftKings and FanDuel, which locks at 7:07 PM ET. The slate on FanDuel is only four games due to the Boston/Yankees doubleheader not being on here. DraftKings didn't take it off last night, so maybe they keep it on tonight. Who knows?

The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups.

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Kevin Gausman, TOR vs. TEX ($11,000 DK, $10,300 FD)

Gausman held the Rangers to one run on six innings in Texas back in June, but only recorded four strikeouts in that game. After getting thumped by Philly on August 16, Gausman has bounced back with nine runs allowed in his last four starts with 30 strikeouts in 23 innings. One of those starts was in Coors, which makes this more impressive. Gausman's ERA is about a half-run lower at home this year. He's the best option on a smaller slate thanks to the upside if he can keep the strikeouts coming.

Kenta Maeda, MIN at CWS ($7,800 DK, $7,600 FD)

There isn't a ton of upside with Maeda since he has only cleared 90 pitches once since the beginning of August. Maeda often labors even if he doesn't rack up strikeouts, which further limits his success for DFS purposes. Now the good news: Maeda's ERA is 2.5 runs lower on the road than in Minneapolis and the White Sox have struggled against right-handed pitching for the last five months or so. Maeda should give us a solid score even if he isn't a candidate to break the slate.

Others to consider: Kyle Bradish ($9,400 DK, $10,600 FD) vs. TB

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jorge Polanco - 2B, MIN at CWS ($4,400 DK, $3,200 FD)

Polanco struggled after coming off the IL for a second time, but he is hitting again of late. He is hitting .314 with a pair of homers, seven RBI, eight runs scored, and a steal in 10 September games so far. The Twins are in a sneaky-good position against Jose Urena tonight.

Cavan Biggio - 3B/OF(DK);1B/2B(FD), TOR vs. TEX ($3,100 DK, $2,300 FD)

DK makes it a little more difficult to get Biggio in the lineup, but I think we need to find a way. Biggio has a modest four-game hitting streak going with a homer, five RBI, and three runs scored in that span. Add in his 2-for-7 career mark against Nathan Eovaldi, and Biggio looks did. Did I mention that both of those hits against Eovaldi are home runs?

Rafael Devers - 3B, BOS vs. NYY ($5,600 DK)

Devers is 4-for-10 in his career against Clarke Schmidt with a double and a homer. There is a chance that Boston won't deploy Devers in both games of this twin bill, so keep an eye on the starting lineups. If Devers is in there, he will be in my lineup.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Cedric Mullins - OF, BAL vs. TB ($4,800 DK, $3,200 FD)

I want Ryan Mountcastle more if he is in the lineup, but considering that he was pulled from last night's game, I think he'll be out. Mullins is a good consolation prize. He isn't 5-for-6 against Aaron Civale like Mouncastle is, but Mullins still has four hits in six tries with a double and a pair of home runs.

Mike Yastrzemski - OF, SF at COL ($4,400 DK, $3,500 FD)

I love it when a guy on a hot streak heads to Coors Field. Yastzemski is hitting a robust .407 with a pair of homers, five RBI, six runs scored, and a steal over his last 10 games. It has mostly been a lost season for Yastrzemski, logging just 289 at-bats, but he has 11 hits in the last six games. He's an absolute lock tonight.

Willi Castro - OF, MIN at CWS ($3,200 DK, $2,700 FD)

Castro is eligible in the infield still on FD, which is very nice. We don't have that luxury on DK. Still, I can find room for a guy who is hitting .344 with two homers, four RBI, eight runs scored, and two steals in the last 10 games. Castro has also given the White Sox the business this year. He if 4-for-10 against White Sox pitching with two doubles, two RBI, and a steal.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

San Francisco Giants vs. Chase Anderson

Anderson's ERA is actually three runs lower in Coors Field, but he just allowed six runs to the Giants over the weekend. Up the mountain, by the Bay, or on an aircraft carrier in the middle of the Pacific, I'll stack Giants against Anderson.

Favorite pieces: Yasterzemski, Thairo Estrada, Joc Pederson, Mitch Haniger, Lamonte Wade

Also consider: Minnesota Twins vs. Jose Urena

Urena is 0-5 with an 8.46 ERA this season. He has allowed nine homers in just 22.1 innings. Need I say more?

Favorite pieces: Royce Lewis, Polanco, Max Kepler, Castro, Carlos Correa

Sneaky Stack: Toronto Blue Jays vs. Nathan Eovaldi

Eovaldi has only pitched four innings in his two starts back after six weeks on the IL. The Rangers aren't going to push him, which means the Jays come at a discount and will likely get 5-6 innings of the Rangers' bullpen instead of Eovaldi.

Favorite pieces: Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Davis Schneider, Biggio, Bo Bichette, George Springer
