DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (8/6/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

Carlos Rodon - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, MLB Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on July 28, 2022. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

It feels unusual to have the main slate on a Saturday be the night one, but that's where we're at today. 10 of the 17 games take place in prime time with the Mariners-Angels and Braves-Mets concluding their doubleheaders on the main slate. Make sure you watch those lineups for the second game extra closely.

The Rockies are in Arizona, so we don't have Coors affecting the offensive ownership of this slate. Only one pitcher is priced in five figures on DK, but there are still a couple of borderline aces out there. Are they worth using? We'll get to that soon enough!

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Saturday's main slate locks at 7:05 pm EST on 8/6/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Carlos Rodon at OAK ($9,500 DK, $10,600 FD)

July was the first month this season where the A's averaged a homer per game. They also collectively struck out at a 26.3% rate. That rate hasn't improved so far in August with it still sitting right around 27%. The A's continue to be one of the worst home teams on the planet. Their batting average is finally above the Mendoza line at home (.204), but they still only have 34 homers in 50 games at the cavernous Coliseum. Want another reason to use Rodon? The current A's roster is a pathetic 4-for-41 (.098) lifetime against Rodon with 13 strikeouts.

July was the worst month of the year for Rodon, but he did notch three games of double-digit strikeouts, including an absolute masterpiece against the Cubs to close out July. He should at least flirt with 10 strikeouts here (he had nine against the A's in April) and start August in a similarly spectacular fashion. His 114 game score today tops the board of pitchers in any of the 17 games. Under 10K on DK feels like a bargain.

Merrill Kelly vs. COL ($9,000 DK, $9,800 FD)

Initially, I didn't plan on paying up at both pitcher slots on DraftKings, but then I looked at Kelly's splits against Colorado this year. He has allowed just two runs in 15.2 innings against them in 2022 and one of those games was in Coors. Overall, Kelly has been on a heater anyway, allowing just one run in 21 innings over his last three starts against the Braves in Atlanta, the Padres in San Diego, and the Giants. That's not exactly feasting on poor offenses.

Kelly doesn't rack up strikeouts like Rodon does, but he has fanned 20 in his last three games. Those are ticking upwards too. Kelly could be a sneaky ace on FanDuel, especially if you think the spunky A's get to Rodon a little.

Also consider: Nick Lodolo, Reid Detmers, Nathan Eovaldi

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Christian Walker - 1B, ARI vs. Antonio Senzatela ($3,600 DK, $2,900 FD)

I get riding the hot bat of Pete Alonso here and will be doing so myself in some lineups, but we spent big on pitchers. Walker provides nice savings against Senzatela, who is inexplicably worse on the road than he is in Coors Field. Walker hits him everywhere. He is 11-for-22 lifetime against Senzatela with a pair of homers. Walker has already gone deep twice in August. Don't be shocked if his third of the month comes tonight.

Jose Miranda - 1B/3B, MIN vs. Mitch White ($3,600 DK, $2,700 FD)

Miranda is on such a heater right now that I would put him up against a full-sized Mike Ditka. While most will go with the white-hot Matt Chapman in the other dugout, Miranda is hitting .333 with nine homers and 42 RBI since May 20. This is a prolonged hot streak and thankfully, the DFS sites haven't taken notice. We still get to run Miranda at a huge discount. Chapman has actually struggled against Dylan Bundy in his career, so I'll lay off  his hot streak and ride Miranda's instead.

Willy Adames - SS, MIL vs. Nick Lodolo ($5,200 DK, $3,700 FD)

The rookie has performed pretty well for the Reds so far, but Adames is one of the best hitters of sinkers on the Brewers' roster. That is Lodolo's primary pitch. Adames is hitting .342 off of sinkers this year (this isn't a fluke...he hit .308 off of them last year) with a .522 SLG and 44.1% hard-hit rate. He's the Brewer most likely to get to Lodolo today.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY at Jordan Montgomery ($6,000 DK, $5,300 FD)

How serendipitous is it that Montgomery faces his former team in his first start for his new team? Considering his old team is the Yankees...probably not so much for Monty. Aaron Judge's StatCast page is as red as the Oklahoma dirt. He hits every pitch well, but he destroys sinkers and four-seamers, which is primarily what Montgomery throws. Montgomery has been solid enough that I'm not going to stack against him, but once again, Judge stands out. That price on FD is rough though...

Eloy Jimenez - OF, CWS at Dane Dunning ($4,400 DK, $2,700 FD)

It was never a question of if Eloy would get going this season, but when. The time is now. Jimenez is hitting a blistering .421 with three homers and seven RBI in the last ten days. On top of that, He is mashing sinkers to the tune of a .476 average so far this season, which is Dunning's primary pitch. I don't trust enough White Sox hitters to go hard after Dunning, but I can guarantee I'll be over the field on Eloy. That price on FD is criminally low.

Nick Gordon - OF, MIN vs. Mitch White ($2,100 DK, $2,200 FD)

It's not often that you see a lower price on DK than FD. When it does happen, it usually means that the player is a superb bargain on DraftKings. Gordon certainly fits that bill. He is hitting .414 with six doubles, a homer, seven RBI, and a steal in the last ten games. That homer he hit last night was an absolute bomb. He's in the zone right now and is way too cheap on DraftKings.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them):

Arizona Diamondbacks - Senzatela has a grotesque 6.16 ERA on the road this year and Arizona chased him in the third inning of his only start against them this year. Arizona is starting to hit better as a team and splits don't matter against Senzatela. Righties and lefties hit him within three percentage points of the other. Go nuts! This could be a huge night for Arizona bats.

Toronto Blue Jays - Bundy has been pretty good at Target Field, but the Blue Jays lit him up like Times Square in Toronto about two months ago. Alex Kirk and Bo Bichette both homered off of him in that game. George Springer has two homers against Bundy in his career and drove in a pair in that June game. Sadly, Bundy hasn't been much better since that game. Toronto and Minnesota have combined for 23 runs in the first two games of this series. Another offensive onslaught seems forthcoming, especially on the Toronto side.

San Francisco Giants - The Giants hit lefties better overall, but Adam Oller has nasty reverse splits so the Giants' righties are in play here tonight. Oller is allowing a homer every 10.5 at-bats. Given his average outing of about 22 batters per game, he should give up a pair of homers to the Giants. Who hits them? I don't know, but Wilmer Flores stands out as does Luis Gonzalez. I'll start my stack there.

Honorable mention: New York Yankees
