Justin Klein highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 9/21/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

It's a full slate of MLB games on DraftKings for Wednesday's contests, as three games take place in the early afternoon and the remaining 12 contests take place in the evening. Because there are so few day games I'm going to focus on the evening games so that you can apply this advice to all of the evening and late contests.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/21/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all evening and late contests.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Detroit Tigers vs. Jose Berrios (RHP)

The Detroit Tigers have a stocked offensive lineup that lit up the Twins for for eight runs on Tuesday. The will look for more on Wednesday as they face Jose Berrios. While Berrios is a blue chip prospect with loads of talent and solid minor league statistics to back it up he's been horrible terrible in the major leagues thus far. Through 48 and 2/3 MLB innings pitched this season Jose has notched a horrific 8.88 ERA. Although he's been a bit unlucky his 6.55 FIP, 5.48 xFIP and 5.20 SIERA don't paint a much better picture. Berrios has been bad against both RHH and LHH so everyone on Detroit is in play. Miguel Cabrera, JD Martinez and Cameron Maybin are your best bets. Ian Kinsler and Victor Martinez are both solid options if they do in fact play. Both have been battling injuries the past couple of days so make sure you check the starting lineups.

New York Mets vs. Ryan Weber (RHP)

Twenty-six year old Ryan Weber hasn't been very good this season for the Mets as he's posted a 5.46 ERA across 31 and 1/3 innings pitched. Last season he wasn't very good either as he notched a 4.76 ERA in 28 and 1/3 innings pitched. This leads me to the Mets and their offense in a game against a poor SP and a bad bullpen. My favorite options are Yoenis Cespedes, Curtis Granderson, Jose Reyes and Asdrubsal Cabrera. If you really like to gamble you could also use Jay Bruce, who has been colder than Freddie Jackson sippin' a milkshake in a snowstorm.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Corey Kluber, KC at CLE - $11,900

Outside of Daniel Nava's 3/6 line against  Corey Kluber the player with the highest average against him over their career is Eric Hosmer with a .277 average. The next best guy is hitting a cool .250 and it's actually two guys with only eight at bats against Kluber each. To say that he's owned the Royals is an understatement as the Klub-inator has held KC to a .236/.291/.369 triple slash. And FWIW 331 at bats is not a small sample size. Although Kluber is fairly expensive he's worth paying up for today.

Zach Greinke, AZ at SD - $8,300

Zach Greinke has not been very good lately, but I simply cannot pass up the matchup with the Padres and their 25% strikeout rate on Wednesday. Greinke isn't exactly cheap, but his mediocre play has definitely lowered his price tag. While there is certainly the chance that Greinke could stumble yet again he should at the very least be a strong source of K's. Because of this I'm willing to take a chance with Zach and hope that he scores 25+ fantasy points. The last time he pitched in San Diego he had 22.4 FP.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Gary Sanchez, NYY at TB - $4,600

Release the Kracken! This season against RHP Gary Sanchez has triple slashed an amazing .382/.449/.780 and cranked out 13 HR. Over the past week those numbers are .364/.417/.864 with three HR. Today Gary and the rest of the Baby Bombers will face Alex Cobb, who just so happens to be right handed. You know what to do.

First Base (1B)

Miguel Cabrera, DET @ MIN - $5,300

As I mentioned above the Tigers get to face Jose Berrios today and that's a good thing, because he's been awful this season. Miggy should be in for a very big day. It saddens me because I'm facing him in multiple head to head playoff matchups, but hopefully I can recoup some of that in DFS. This season against RHP Miggy has hit .311 and slugged .557. On the road his OBP is .399. In his last 5 games Cabrera has four walks and five hits including a double and two HR. There are a lot of good options at 1B, but I want Miggy in all of my lineups.

Second Base (2B)

Sean Rodriguez, PIT @ MIL - $4,000

Sean Rodriguez has been among the hottest hitters in baseball over the past two weeks as he's triple slashed an amazing .378/.441/.784. In his past six games he's slugging .840 with nine hits including four HR. Today he faces off with Jimmy Nelson at homer happy Miller Park. In case you're new to DFS a hot hitter in a good hitter's park is a good combination. At 4k Rodriguez seems like a bit of a steal so I'm more than happy to use him at that price.

Shortstop (SS)

Asdrubal Cabrera, NYM vs ATL - $4,200

Over the past month Asdrubal Cabrera has been white hot as he's managed to crank out 31 hits including seven doubles, a triple, seven HR and 3 SB while posting nearly as many walks as strikeouts (11:13). While Cabrera has been a better hitter against LHP this season it's important to note that 17 of his 20 HR have come against RHP. As I mentioned above I love the matchup with Ryan Weber today and I fully expect Asdrubal to stay hot and produce big numbers, so join me and get him in all of your Draftkings DFS lineups.

Third Base (3B)

Todd Frazier, CHW @ PHI - $3,800

Todd Frazier has been blazing hot over the past week and extremely good in the month September. Over his last six games he's triple slashed .364/.400/.545 with eight hits including a double, a HR and a SB. While his season long numbers are still sketchy AF he's mashed 27 HR against RHP and 22 of his 37 HR on the road. That's seven more HR on the road despite only playing in three more road games. Today Frazier and the White Sox play the Phillies in the band box known as CItizen's Bank Park in Philadelphia and I believe Frazier stays hot and hits for extra bases.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Chris Coghlan, CHI vs CIN - $2,800

Since you have to save some money somewhere I thought you might as well go with a red hot Chicago Cub. Although Coghlan's numbers on the year aren't great he's been solid of late. In his past five games (three starts) Chris has maanged five hits including a double and a HR while hitting .385 and slugging .692. Today he would have a nice matchup with RHP Robert Stephenson if he is in the starting lineup, but make sure that he is before deploying him. If he is in fact in the lineup I like him very much as a cheap value play.

J.D. Martinez, DET @ MIN - $4,400

Always using a hitter against Jose Berrios has been a fairly lucrative strategy this season in DFS. I love employing it today as the Tigers get to take batting practice twice at Target Field. It certainly helps that J.D martinez has been red hot of late as he's triple slashed a mean .368/.455/.632 over his past six games. Against RHP this season J.D. has cracked 23 doubles, two triples and 16 HR while slugging .564. I expect those numbers to rise today as Martinez gets to face Berrios and the Twins bullpen. At $4,400 I like J.D. even more so join me and get him into all of your DFS lineups on Draftkings today.

Marcell Ozuna, WAS @ MIA - $2,700

Marcell (the shell) Ozuna has been ice cold lately, but he does have 105 hits against RHP this season including 18 doubles, five triples (?!?) and 13 HR. In his career against Max Scherzer he's managed four hits across 17 at bats and all four of them went for extra bases as he clocked two doubles and smacked two HR. Also of note is that Marcell has been much better at home in the slugging department as his SLG is 76 points higher at home at Marlins Park. At just $2,700 Ozuna is nice all or nothing punt play in the OF today at Drafkings as he could deliver another extra base hit and he is surely a contrarian play in GPP formats.
