DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (9/19/16): MLB DFS Advice

The regular season is coming to a close, but there's still plenty of games to use for daily fantasy baseball on DraftKings. It's a pretty big slate for a Monday with 11 games scheduled. Some big names are on the mound today, so finding a way to fit some expensive guys into your lineup will be key.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 9/19/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Be sure to check out FantasyAces DFS contests for Week 3. New users that sign up on Fantasy Aces and make a $20 deposit will receive RotoBaller's full season NFL Premium Pass for free (including Premium DFS), normally a $59.99 value. Expert DFS research, sample lineups, matchup ratings and lots more!

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Chicago Cubs vs. Tim Adleman (RHP)

This will be the first time that Chicago hitters face Tim Adleman this season, but they should be ready to tee off on him. In his first season in the bigs he's 2-4 with a 4.21 ERA. He's struggled lately, allowing four earned runs in five innings during his last start. With a 5.06 ERA in September, Adleman is a good option to stack against. The Chicago lineup is very potent, providing several options for today.

Colorado Rockies vs. Carlos Martinez (RHP)

It's no secret that the Rockies make for a good stack on most night they are home. Monday is no exception with Carlos Martinez on the mound. Current Colorado hitters have a combined .375 average against him. The Rockies are second in the league with a .275 team average. Lefties have hit Martinez better than right-handers, so that bodes well for a lefty-heavy lineup like Colorado's.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Noah Syndergaard, NYM vs. ATL - $11,600

Thor enters Monday on a stretch of six very good starts, having not allowed more than two runs over that stretch. He took a tough no-decision his last time out after holding Washington to just one run in seven innings of work. He's piled up four wins in the last six starts and has a 1.42 ERA in the month of September. This will be his first start against the Braves this season, a team that ranks in the lower half of the league in team batting average.

Jason Hammel, CHC vs. CIN - $7,700

The Cubs as a team have a good offensive matchup tonight, so that helps to make Jason Hammel a good starting pitcher to target. It's not often that a pitcher riding a two-game losing streak in which he's allowed 12 total runs makes for starting target, but don't overlook Hammel in this one. He's 2-0 against Cincinnati this season with 12 shutout innings. Those numbers, plus a good chance of a team victory play in his favor.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Evan Gattis, HOU at OAK - $3,700

Gattis isn't recommended for season leagues given his low average (.246), but his average of seven fantasy points a game is more than serviceable. He failed to pick up a hit Sunday, but is hitting .286 over the last week. HE also has two double-digit fantasy performances in his last four games. There are some better options at catcher, but Gattis provides both value and production without being a very popular selection.

First Base (1B)

Jefry Marte, LAA at TEX - $3,700

Marte is a valuable daily fantasy player, especially considering that he can be slotted in at either first base or third base. He's hitting just .253 for the season, but has a respectable average of nearly six fantasy points a game. He's on a two-game hitting streak and has a home run in just three at-bats against opposing starter Martin Perez.

Second Base (2B)

Chase Utley, LAD vs. SF - $3,200

Utley makes for a very sneaky play Monday given his tough matchup with Madison Bumgarner. He's only hit .125 in his career against the San Francisco ace, so that will likely keep most people away. However, Utley is on a hot streak, picking up at least two hits in each of his last three games. He's working on a streak of three straight games with at least 10 fantasy points. With a low price and the recent hot streak, Utley is a top target at second base.

Shortstop (SS)

Asdrubal Cabrera, NYM vs. ATL - $4,300

Cabrera has been a good daily fantasy target, but he still usually carries a low ownership number. He enters today with a .320 average in September and an average of seven fantasy points a game. Hitting near the top of New York's lineup, he's is a position each night to put up some good numbers. He's  3-for-8 lifetime against probable starter Aaron Blair.

Third Base (3B)

Ryon Healy, OAK vs. HOU - $3,600

Healy continues to to be an extremely valuable commodity for daily fantasy lineups. He's maintained a reasonable salary, but is averaging nearly eight fantasy points a game. With five double-digit fantasy performances in his last seven games, Healy is a very solid target. He's got a nine-game hitting streak and an average of .390 in September.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Mark Trumbo, BAL vs. BOS - $3,700

Trumbo has seen a drop in production as the year has gone on, but he's also seen his DraftKings price tag drop. The latter is good for those targeting him today. He's a very streaky player and will have games in which he doesn't provide any fantasy points thanks to his low batting average. However, his 43 home runs show his power potential, especially at Camden Yards. Trumbo has a great matchup today, considering he's  7-for-22 lifetime (.318) with three home runs and six RBI against opposing starter Rick Porcello. He's coming off a big two-hit day, including a home run, on Sunday.

Carlos Beltran, TEX vs. LAA - $4,400

Beltran has been a big pickup for the Rangers, and although it's not quite the postseason, he's already starting to heat up. He's on a four-game hit streak and is hitting .351 the past month. He's only 2-for-11 lifetime against opposing starter Jhoulys Chacin, but don't let that deter you from selecting Beltran. His current production already makes him one to target, and it's only sweetened by the fact that he has hit .329 with three home runs this year at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

Carlos Gomez, TEX vs. LAA - $4,100

Although Texas wasn't mentioned for a stack, choosing two Rangers for your outfield Monday is a good decision. Carlos Gomez is hot right now with a three-game hit streak and back-to-back multi-hit games. He's got two home runs in the last three games and two double-digit fantasy performances in the last three games. Gomez has had some success in his career against opposing starter Jhoulys Chacin, hitting .308 with a home run.
