DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (7/27/16): MLB DFS Advice

Wednesday is typically a big day for daily fantasy baseball players thanks to plenty of daytime baseball. You'll be able to choose several different contests on DraftKings to participate in.

There's plenty of value to go around today, so be sure to choose the right pitchers to build your lineup around. Some top pitchers like Madison Bumgarner and Stephen Strasburg are on the mound, but affording them will take some creativity in your lineup.

Editor's Note: RotoBaller has the best Premium MLB Subscription for only $1.99 per week. We have all the tools to help win your seasonal and daily leagues: Hitter & Pitcher Streamers, Matchup Ratings for every player, Sleeper Surgers for AVG, HR, Ks, PLUS Daily DFS Cheat Sheets, Lineup Picks, Expert Lineups, Stacks and Avoids.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 7/27/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings.

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Luis Perdomo (RHP)

The Blue Jays are in a good spot today against rookie Luis Perdomo. Although he's pitched well recently and picked up a win his last time out, he's still sitting with a 4-4 record and an ERA of 6.93. Toronto has one of the scariest lineups in baseball to pitch against and is loaded with right-handed hitters. Righties are hitting .351 against Perdomo this season. Josh Donaldson and Troy Tulowitzki are obvious choices for a stack today. Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion should also be included. Darwin Barney and Devon Travis are cheaper options to consider for a stack.

Chicago Cubs vs. Anthony Ranaudo (RHP)

Ranaudo is making his first start of the season after struggling out of the pen. In just 3.2 innings this year he's allowed seven earned runs while issuing eight walks. His control has certainly been an issue, but the White Sox are giving him the start today against a talented Cubs lineup. Lefties Anthony Rizzo, Jason Heyward, Miguel Montero, and switch-hitting Ben Zobrist should all be considered for a stack.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Danny Duffy, KC vs. LAA - $8,900

At first glance this one may not look like the best matchup considering that the Angels have not been kind in fantasy terms to some opposing pitchers and just put up 13 runs Tuesday night. However, Duffy is on a roll, picking up four wins in his last five starts. He has been very good in July, posting a 2.89 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. Making today's matchup even better is the fact that current Angles have a combined lifetime .193 average against him. Geovany Soto is the one he has to watch out for though (two home runs in six at-bats against Duffy).

Adam Wainwright, STL at NYM- $10,900

Wainwright struggled to start the season but has really turned things around lately. He's won three of his last four starts and has a .093 ERA in the month of July. The veteran has only allowed three runs in his last four starts. He's not the overpowering pitcher he once was, but he's averaging over six strikeouts a game over the last two months. He has struggled on the road this season, but that should keep his ownership down in daily leagues. Wainwright is working on a stretch of four straight games with at least 20 fantasy points.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Salvador Perez, KC vs. LAA - $3,200

Perez has turned into one of the best hitting catchers in the game. However, he's started to struggle a bit in July with his average for the month just hovering over the Mendoza Line. However, he has a good history against opposing starter Matt Shoemaker. In eight at-bats he's got six hits, including a home run. Perez normally isn't owned by many in tournaments, making him a solid sleeper play.

First Base (1B)

Kennys Vargas, MIN vs. ATL - $3,500

Vargas is still getting a bit overlooked at times since he spent time in the minors this season and wasn't playing regularly, particularly against lefties. However, that's changed as of late, and with righty Mike Foltynewicz on the mound, Vargas should be in the lineup. He has only faced Foltynewicz one time but he connected for a home run. Vargas has a four-game hit streak entering today to go with his .327 average. He's averaging 10.1 fantasy points a game, so get him in your lineup.

Second Base (2B)

Devon Travis, TOR at SD- $4,300

Travis has been a very nice source of fantasy points this season, averaging nearly eight points a game. His salary has continued to creep up, but his good spot in a talented Toronto lineup has helped him produce some very good numbers that are worth the price in daily leagues. Travis has an average of .429 in the last week and has been consistently good against right-handed pitching this season (.320).

Shortstop (SS)

Didi Gregorius, NYY at HOU - $3,100

If you're looking for some solid numbers at a very low price, then Gregorius is the perfect selection today. He enters the day with a four-game hit streak and is batting .316 in the month of July. The shortstop has already set a career-high in home runs and is on pace to shatter his lifetime .262 average. Today he'll go up against righty Lance McCullers. Gregorius, who hits from the left side, has a .274 average with 10 homers off of right-handed pitchers.

Third Base (3B)

Adrian Beltre, TEX vs. OAK - $5,100

The veteran third baseman has been on a tear over the last week, particularly with his two home runs in Monday's game. Today he'll face off against lefty Sean Manaea. Beltre is 1-for-3 lifetime against him and is hitting .326 versus southpaws this season. With two double-digit fantasy performances in the last four games his price is no longer low and has risen above the $5,000 mark, however, Beltre is an obvious selection today.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Kirk Nieuwenhuis, MIL vs. ARI - $3,500

While a .210 average is terrbile for year-long fantasy leagues, you can overlook it in a daily league since you only need the guy to perform for one night. That's the case with Milwaukee's Kirk Nieuwenhuis today. Although he's struggled this season, he's hitting .333 with three home runs in the last week. He gets a favorable matchup with Archie Bradley today, as left-handed hitters are hitting .295 with six home runs against him. With two games of at least 16 fantasy points over the last four, there's definitely potential for Nieuwenhuis to produce for a very affordable price tag.

Matt Kemp, SD at TOR- $3,900

Kemp has picked up a hit in 11 straight games and is hitting .333 with four home runs in the last week. He's also averaging eight fantasy points a game, a good number for a price tag under the $4,000 mark. He's o-for-4 lifetime against opposing starter Marco Estrada, but don't let that deter you. Kemp is hot now and is hitting .282 with 15 home runs on the road this season.

Carlos Beltran, NYY at HOU - $3,500

Beltran is hitting up over .300 for the season and has been a nice surprise in the middle of the New York lineup. With 21 home runs he still has both pop and the ability to hit for average. More than half of his homers have come from the left side of the plate, and that's where he'll be hitting from to start the game against righty Lance McCullers. The veteran outfielder is hitting .350 in July and enters today with a five-game hit streakFrom a fantasy perspective, he's averaging 8.2 fantasy points a game, making him worth a start in daily lineups on most days.
