Counter Strike: Global Offensive DFS Picks for 4/9/20 - DraftKings Daily Fantasy Sports

Jorge Pucks' DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on 4/9/20. He analyzes CS:GO slates and his top targets for ESports DFS contests.

Welcome back, RotoBallers, to another edition of my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS picks! If you are reading this, you must be missing sports quite a bit but have found solace in DFS ESports! For those that are new to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS set up, don't worry I got your back!

If you need a quick refresher, here you go. You have teams of five and the objective is to plant a bomb while the other team defends. It’s a pretty simple objective so let’s not try to over-analyze things! There are 30 rounds per match (the first to win 16 rounds takes the match) and they play best two out of three. There is no respawning so once you die, you are gone till the next round so kill-to-death ratios are very important to look at it when crafting your roster.

Today I'll be bringing you my Counter-Strike: Global Offensive DFS advice, analysis and picks for ESports DFS contests on DraftKings Thursday, April 9th, 2020 at 12:25 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @rdr1634.

Thursday's Games: ESL

  • FaZe -205 vs. OG +160
  • Natus Vincere -160 vs. Fnatic +125
  • Astralis -135 vs. Mousesports +105
  • FPX +295 vs. MAD -400
  • Furia -165 vs. MIBR +130
  • Gen G. -135 @ C9 +105

DFS Captain Considerations

NiKo absolutely went off against Natus Vincere and showed the upside that he is capable of. He is the third-highest player on the slate at $8,800 (regular player price) and draws another great matchup where he went for 105 DK points against OG just a few days ago. He has a 1.25 K/D ratio over the last month and a 1.23 K/D ratio over the last three months as well so he stands out to be one of the best overall plays on the slate.

Bubzkji will see some ownership based on his most recent performance against FPX. He scored 117.6 DK points as he had 46 kills and only 25 deaths. He offers extreme upside but you do have to be aware that when you take out his monster game, he is only averaging 57.1 DK points in his six prior games so this could be a recency bias play. Bubskji has a 1.20 K/D ratio over the last month and has the 2nd highest rating in the Flashpoint 1 League. He should be included in all MAD stacks and also stands out as a great one-off play, especially if you think he can replicate his most recent performance against FPX.

Kscerato is back on a slate and if you read my article over the past week, we have used him quite a bit due to his mispricing on DK. His pricing has finally been adjusted and is now the 5th highest priced player on this slate but I still think he could be viable especially in tournaments. Kscerato is averaging 71.3 DK points over his last five contests and has eclipsed 50 kills in four out of his last five games. Yes, he did have a stinker of a game (27.8 DK points), but rebounded nicely and went for 53 kills the following game. Furia is the slight favorite and with this game and Kscerato went for 101.4 against MIBR earlier this season so all signs point to looking his way again.

Sjuush is the value pick for the captain role on this 6-game slate. He is averaging 65.7 Dk points over his last seven games and has a pretty solid floor or eclipsing at least 50 DK points in that same seven-game span. He has some upside as he has hit above 70 DK points in three of those games while also carrying a 1.24 K/D ratio over the last month. In the prior match against FPX, he went for 67.9 DK points (34 kills/ 29 deaths) and could hit the 70-80 range based on his matchup.

DFS Value Plays

Sonic is $5,000 and resides at the bottom of the player pool but deserves to be placed higher. He is coming off of his worst performance during the Flashpoint League but before his 12.5 performance, he was averaging 52.9 DK points for his 6 previous games. It should be a close and competitive game between C9 and Gen G. so if it goes all three games, he could have the ability to rack up some additional fantasy points and return value.

acoR is the best value on this slate in my opinion. He is just $5,800 on DK and that is a very low salary number for someone who has averaged 56.6 DK points over his last seven games. He has eclipsed 50+ DK points in four out of his last seven games and has had 40+ kills in five out of his last seven games as well. With MAD being the largest favorite on the slate, it would be wise to get a piece or two of them with one being acoR.

Top 3 DFS Stacks

MAD should be one of the more popular targets on this slate with the large Vegas total and with them being one of the more dominant teams in the FLashpoint League. MAD played FPX earlier this season and beat them 2-0 so there is no reason to think that they can’t do that again. MAD has won five straight games and is ranked #13 in the world while FPX is ranked #31 overall. In the game against FPX, Bubzkji went off for 117.6 DK points (46 kills/ 25 Deaths) so he has some huge upside in this matchup. Sjuush and acoR would be the other two guys that would stand out in this matchup due to price, opponents and recent form.

Astralis needs a win tomorrow as they sit on the outside of the top 3 teams in the ESL Pro League. They are now 2-2 while Mousesports is 3-1 and tomorrow’s match-up will determine if they enter a tie-breaking scenario with the loser of Fnatic- Natus VIncere or if they lock in a 4th place finish. Astralis is the higher-ranked team and has won three out of their last five games while Mousesports has won four out of their last five. As a team over the last month, Astralis is boasting a 1.12 K/D ratio which is very solid. Xyp9x and Device both have a 1.22 K/D ratio over the past month while Dupreeh has a  1.19 K/D ratio. If you have enough salary, this could be a fun three-man stack to run but it might be best to just be safe and run a two-man stack using any of those three players. Magisk is a good value option if you need to save some salary but want a piece of them as a team.

Furia is a slight favorite over MIBR and also has a head to head win over them in the last 30 days. This is the lower round matchup for theNorth America ESL Pro League Season and the winner takes on the loser of Evil Geniuses and Liquid. This is a must-win for both teams and Furia has been in better form as of late. They have won three out of their last five games and are higher ranked than MIBR. Kscerato has been playing great as he has had a 1.36 K/D ratio over the last month. Yuurih and Ken1 are two guys to pair him with as Yuurih owns a 1.12 K/D ratio and Hen1 owns a 1.06 K/D ratio.

FanDuel ESports DFS Contests

FanDuel has now added CSGO to their contest offerings with a 4 gamer tomorrow.

Some big differences on FanDuel are that you have a team slot, so make sure you choose teams that have upside but can also lock in the win. In addition, they give points for headshots which is something I will include in future articles when looking at players.

This article was written for DraftKings so if you have any questions about FD plays, please reach out to me on Twitter and I will be happy to answer!
