Chase Brown fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 5 (2024). Should you start or sit Chase Brown for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Bench in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Fantasy managers should consider benching Chase Brown this week unless they deal with bye-week problems and need a fill-in.
While Brown flashed his potential last week with 15 carries for 80 yards and two touchdowns, his role in the Bengals' backfield is still developing, and he remains in a timeshare with Zack Moss.
With a tough matchup against the Ravens' stout defense in Week 5, relying on Brown as a fantasy starter is risky. The Ravens have been strong against the run, which could limit Brown’s opportunities and overall effectiveness, making him a less appealing option this week.
That said, Brown’s long-term potential remains promising, especially as he gains more work alongside Moss. His breakout performance last week hints at his upside later in the season, particularly if he secures a larger share of the Bengals' backfield.
While it's best to keep him benched against a tough Ravens defense, Brown could become a valuable asset as the year progresses, so fantasy managers should stash him on their rosters for future use.
