Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (7/25/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 7/25/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! Welcome back to COD DFS! Welcome back to week three of stage 5. This is the last week of the stage and then we are back to LAN next week with Major 5! Uhm, well that was an absolute disaster, Florida didn't show up for a very critical game, Optic let LA Thieves reverse sweep them, and London pulled it out in Round 11 of Game 5. Just not my day.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! On the final regular-season slate of COD, we have Seattle taking on LA Guerillas, The NY Subliners taking on the Atlanta FaZe, and the Toronto Ultra taking on the Dallas Empire in the last regular-season matchup!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Sunday, July 25th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Seattle Surge Home Series

Best of 5

  • Seattle Surge (-225) vs. LA Guerrillas (+170)
  • NY Subliners(+900) vs. Atlanta FaZe (-2000)
  • Toronto Ultra (-225) vs. Dallas Empire (+170)

Slate Overview

Oh, what a banger this matchup is going to be. This might be the closest matchup of the day. Seattle and LA Guerrillas have been the worst in the league all year and now get a chance to show who is the better team. Both of these teams are awful and I think that makes it a little interesting. I think Seattle is the better Hardpoint and Control team so I give them the edge there. In Snd, I think it will be close but I think LA Guerrillas get that done there. So I'm gonna say 3-1 Seattle but it could go 5 maps as well too.

Atlanta FaZe sweep. Not even a question. Clay isn't there to get in their heads.

This one is going to be a battle, Dallas has looked better in Stage 5 but poses a real threat to Toronto in this matchup. Toronto should win though, they are clearly the more dominant team in hardpoint and Control. Dallas can have a slight edge in SnD, but even then it's a 3-1 win for Toronto.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Insight: It had to be either Cammy or Insight. Atlanta Players are great but good luck getting them in your lineup. They are so expensive and make it nearly impossible to have them in your lineup. Insight is a great pivot to those Atlanta players, he has been by far the best player on his team during stage 5 so far as he is averaging a 1.18 K/D in hardpoint, a 1.52 in SnD, and a 1.39 in Control. These are absolutely insane numbers and they should be dominating in respawn game modes, and if this goes 4 maps then that just adds to picking Insight. He is by far one of the best players on the board that isn't an Atlanta player.

Octane: I think there is a chance this game goes to 5 maps and if that's the case, I want Octane to be honest. He is by far the best player on this team and it's not even close, I mean Hell, his nickname is literally the human turret. He is an elite AR player, and I think last game him being on the SMG was just them having fun with them not having a chance at any future winning but I think they want to go out with a win and we should see Octane back on the AR, which is perfect for this game as Octane is by far the superior AR player in this matchup. During stages 4 and 5, Octane was averaging a 1.08 K/D in hardpoint, a 1.15 in SnD, and a 1.07 K/D in Control.

Other captain plays: Atlanta Players, Gunless, Cammy, Shotzzy(GPP)

COD DFS Value Plays

Prestinni: I'm bringing him back for this slate! I fully believe that Prestinni is the best SMG player in this matchup, Silly is awful and Apathy hasn't shown me anything this season to make me believe otherwise. MentaL has been horrid in his start to the season to put it straight. Prestinni should have the major skill advantage coming into this one via his movement and his ability to turn the matchups into his favor. His K/D has been atrocious but he has played some of the top teams such as Toronto, Dallas, and Florida recently. This matchup is a lot more friendly and at 7,200, I have to take a chance on that.

Bance: Bance looked really nice in his last game out, I had to take a second and make sure he was actually the one playing. He is the cheapest piece on Toronto Ultra and I think could be a critical part of lineups as he is at a decent price at only 7,800. He has had 113 and 109 in his last two matches and has been playing stellar recently. He is definitely the safest value on the slate and should be locked in for sure. Just need him to continue to play the way he has and he should easily hit another 100+ day.

Other value plays: Vivid (GPP), Classic(gross), MentaL(PUNT), Apathy(gross)

COD DFS Stacks

Toronto Ultra: Besides, Atlanta, I feel like Toronto is the safest stack otherwise.  With Atlanta being basically impossible to stack, we have to look elsewhere to stack and I think the next best stacking option is Toronto Ultra. Toronto hasn't lost in Stage 5 yet and this is a good place to cement themselves in the 1st seed. They put Cammy higher than Insight so therefore I'm going right back to Insight, between the two I always go with the cheaper one as they are both elite players and have the ability to put up big numbers. Bance has been looking great and had a fantastic game against Florida, he is definitely a great value. CleanX is basically impossible to guess how he is going to do so flip a coin and pray. The last two of the three matches these teams have played have resulted in a Toronto win, one by the sweep and one by 5 games. In those games, Insight had some fantastic games making him my favorite play on the slate.

Other Team Plays: Atlanta FaZe, Seattle Surge, Dallas Empire (GPP)

Summary

  1. TLDR: Seattle 3-1, Atlanta 3-0, Toronto 3-1
  2.  Seattle: Octane, Gunless, Prestinni
  3. LAG: Assault, MentaL(PUNT play)
  4. Atlanta: All Players
  5. NYSL: Hydra? Maybe?
  6. Toronto: Insight, Cammy, Bance
  7. Dallas: Shotzzy, Vivid
