Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (6/12/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 6/12/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! Welcome to another week of Stage 4 COD DFS! I can't say that was a bad start to the week! Hydra and Mack both went +24 or better and lead NYSL to a big 3-0 win, Toronto made it quick for LAG as they swept as well. Minnesota knocked off the new look LA Thieves even though the entire team went negative. Lastly, my Seattle Surge pulled off one of the biggest upsets over Optic since LAG gave Atlanta their first loss of the season. I was definitely not expecting it and Octane broke the slate at very minimal ownership. Let's get onto the next slate!

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! On this wonderful Saturday afternoon, we get to start with the battle of the bottoms as London Royal Ravens take on the LA Guerrillas! Next, we have a great game as Minnesota Rokkr looks to pull off the upset against the very dominant Atlanta FaZe. Last but not least my favorite game of the day as Florida Mutineers take on the Dallas Empire in their final match of Stage 4!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, June 12th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Florida Mutineers Home Series

Best of 5

  • London Royal Ravens (+105) vs. LA Guerrillas (-135)
  • Minnesota Rokkr (+700) vs. Atlanta FaZe (-1600)
  • Florida Mutineers (-135) vs. Dallas Empire (+105)

Slate Overview

What a garbage matchup this is going to be. The bottom teams all looking for a win still to make sure they don't get the worst seed in their group. Unfortunately, it might also make for a close game which can also mean very bloody. Both teams only have 2 map wins at this stage which is extremely bad to think about. So therefore it's going to be a toss-up. I'm gonna break down each game mode as best as I can to make this game sense. LAG has been horrible in Hardpoint this season and in this stage has yet to win a map in Hardpoint. London however has shown they have been a better hardpoint team this season and have one win. So I do think London takes the Hardpoint maps. LAG has been the better SnD team though as they have been quite a bit better SnD team in recent stages and London doesn't have a single win in SnD in Stage 4. Now Control we are dead even and it looks like it might come down to which map is picked. I'm gonna give the edge to London though as, In stage 3, London was the much better Control team compared to LAG. Therefore I'm saying 3-1 London win.

Sheesh, Atlanta -1600 favorites? That's insane and a 3-0 sweep is only +110 odds. Minnesota is coming off a nice win over LA Thieves in Game 5 but looked absolutely horrible while doing that as every single player on Minnesota went negative. That can't slide against Atlanta as they are going to come in and demolish the competition as they have been. It should be a 3-0 sweep as I just don't give much of a chance to Minnesota to pull this dub off. Atlanta has just been nothing but dominant and they are here to continue their momentum and keep it going into the next Major and lock up that first seed!

The big difference between these teams is going to be the Hardpoint matches. Florida has been much better as they are 5-2 in Hardpoint stage 4 compared to the 2-4 that Dallas brings up. Both teams are 4-2 in SnD and 2-2 in Control. Those games are going to be close and therefore could end up going either way. Bringing in stage 3 into the mix shows that Florida has been the better SnD team and both teams have been pretty bad at Control with Florida having one more win than Dallas. This is going to be close but I really think Florida wins this match and at worst this ends up being a 3-1 for them. Owakening and Skyz have been a different breed lately and could make this one very difficult for Dallas.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Cellium: Another slate with Atlanta on it means, another Cellium captain day. At this point, he is really becoming one of the best on the team and we are still getting him at a discount compared to Simp and Abezy. He has 110 DKP or better in 6 of his last 7 games and all 4 matches in Stage 4 as well. His K/D differential has been insane as well as he had +8, +17, +17, and +10 in Stage 4. He is averaging a 1.22 K/D in Hardpoint, a 1.83 in SnD, and a 1.24 in Control during stage 4. He is also 4th in the league in overall K/D at 1.14! Simp and Abezy are great plays as well but Cellium has definitely shown to be one of the best plays at his price on the team and until he gets moved ahead of Simp or Abezy. I will continue to play him at a discount.

Skyz/Owakening: Both of these guys are in a position to make big moves and show that has been on the top of their game during stage 4. Skyz has had 101 DKP or better in all games during stage 4 and even 2 games with 120+. He got a steep increase in his price though and could prove to be difficult to grab if you are trying to grab multiple Atlanta players as well. Skyz is definitely the safer play but I do like the recent production out of Owakening in his last three games he has had 119, 106, and 112 DKP. He has been much better and I love the 1,200$ discount from skyz that can help relieve some of the salary that is stuck at the top. In Hardpoint, Owakening had 1.11 K/D and Skyz a 1.41, in SnD 1.29 and a .91, and in Control a .96 K/D and a 1.13. Both guys have been great and I don't think you can go wrong with either of them but if you can afford to get Skyz, I highly recommend doing so!

Other captain plays: Simp, Abezy, Shotzzy, PaulEhx

COD DFS Value Plays

Havok: Ah good ole, Havok. He kinda let me down last game but that was because it ended up going 4 games against LAG. Last time against Dallas though he had 104, which is one of his highest-scoring days on the season so far. If we get 90+ out of him though I will be completely satisfied. During Stage 4, he has been playing much better and that gives me hope that he can do well in this matchup. In hardpoint he has a .96 K/D, a 1.15 in SnD, and a .92 K/D in Control. 3/4 of his matches in Stage 4 has resulted in 91+ DKP or better and that's really all we can hope for at 6,600. Multiple value plays may be necessary on this slate with how expensive some of those at the top are. Havok is on a favored team and looked good against Dallas in their last matchup. Let's hope he can repeat.

Alexx: Alexx helps relieve a lot of that salary that is being clogged at the top with all those Atlanta players. I specifically chose Alexx because in the past in games that they have won or at least gone to game 5, he has scored well. In their 3-2 loss against Dallas at the beginning of the stage, he scored 110 DKP with a +7 K/D differential and over 3 minutes of hill time. It's hard to base picks on recent performance when both London and LAG have been just horrible in this stage. Alexx has been one of the better players to rely on for London other than PaulEhx and I think it's a great value play at 6,400.

Other value plays: SiLLY, Seany, Cheen, Vivid

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta FaZe: I mean, good luck stacking them. Every single player on Atlanta is nearly 9k or more, and that includes Arcitys! Abezy and Simp are both 10k or more as well! Fitting more than one or two of these guys is going to make it difficult. Cellium I still believe is the best play on Atlanta FaZe as his pricing point is much easier to achieve compared to Simp and Abezy and still has shown the same production or better in this stage. Arcitys isn't a bad play but is starting to get to a point where he needs to be scoring more than his normal 100-110 range to prove effective as a play. I really like Abezy as well as a pivot to Simp. The optimal players to have I think end up being Cellium and Abezy. Getting them will prove difficult though...

Florida Mutineers: Skyz wow, he is very expensive, and for the first time. I might actually have to fade him. Owakening is looking like a very nice play though and I like the upside we get with him compared to Neptune and Havok. The last outing for Florida against Dallas finished in a sweep and Owakening had 115, Havok has 104, Neptune had 100, and Skyz had 147! These guys are insane and have been playing great in Stage 4. They are a much more affordable stack too compared to Atlanta. This is looking like a great matchup for Florida who needs to win this game to lock in the 2nd seed in Major 4. I expect them to be coming in on their A-game.

Other Team Plays: London Royal Ravens, LA Guerrillas

Summary

  1. TLDR: London 3-1, Atlanta 3-0, Florida 3-1
  2. London: PaulEhx, Alexx
  3. LAG: Assault, Silly
  4. Atlanta: All Players
  5. Minnesota: None
  6. Florida: All players viable
  7. Dallas: Shotzzy, Vivid
