Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (4/1/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 3/28/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! Welcome everyone to Stage 2 of COD League! What a great way to end the weekend. Seattle and Florida made quick work of their opponents and could make runs in the 2nd Major of the year coming up next week. Minnesota and Dallas came down to 5 games though as Minnesota clutched up and took down the Empire. Great game to watch as well.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great weekend of COD DFS! Thursday and Friday have a great set of games for us. On Thursday we have Dallas Empire against Florida Mutineers and Optic Chicago takes on a hot Seattle Surge. Friday we have London Royal Ravens taking on Toronto Ultra as well as FaZe taking on the poor LAG.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Thursday and Friday, April 1st and 2nd, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: LA Guerrillas Home Series

Best of 5

  • Dallas Empire (-200) vs. Florida Mutineers (+155)
  • Optic Chicago (-275) vs. Seattle Surge (+200)
  • Toronto Ultra (-125) vs. London Royal Ravens (-110)
  • Atlanta FaZe (-1200) vs. LA Guerrillas (+600)

Slate Overview

Dallas really choked against Minnesota last week coming into game 5 and choked big time. It looks like Minnesota is back and ready to contend Standy has really brought them back together and this could be a dangerous bunch come Major time. Dallas though smacked Paris at the beginning of last week and I think Florida is just a step ahead of Paris. This one might be close but I think Dallas still edges them out here. Dallas has a massive advantage in Hardpoint and has been pretty good at SnD as well. Control on the other hand is very even and it's going to be a close one. If Dallas can win that they might sweep, but if they lose Dallas should get a 3-1 win in the 2nd hardpoint map.

These odds are wack. Optic has lost their last two matches both by the sweep and they weren't pretty either. Dashy was completely shut down and they couldn't get anything going here. The fact that Optic is this big of favorites against a Seattle team that is hot right now is crazy. Maybe Optic needed a weekend to fix some issues but I'm gonna take the hot hand right now and call the upset here. Seattle beats a struggling Optic team 3-1. With the one loss more than likely coming in Control, but I would not be surprised to see a sweep.

Toronto and London have both made recent roster changes and I think London won between both of them Paulehx is playing some of the best COD in the league right now and has shot up to a Top 5 price in the overall Salaries on DraftKings. London has been playing well and although they lost to New York they have big wins over LA Thieves and Optic Chicago. PaulEhx could have been the piece that they were missing and I think London should be favorites here and I'm going to finally hop on the London train, as the matchup is good and they are playing very well and should be able to take down a Toronto team that even struggled to take out LA Guerrillas.

Just pick FaZe. Cmon we are this far into the season and I have little hope for any team trying to beat them except maybe NYSL. LA Guerrillas stand very little chance here. Sweep by FaZe.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Abezy: Okay, So since I'm not mentioning Simp as one of my Captain options. That means to go all-in on him, Simp absolutely hates me and doesn't want me to win. The two slates he has had sub 100, it's because I rostered him. Anyways Abezy... He has been playing so damn well recently, it's crazy how stacked this team is. His last three scores on DK have been; 140, 104, 141. That is insane and his games where he is having a "rough" game is a minimum of 90 points otherwise we are looking at 100+ DKP in every game from him. I'm pretty confident Atlanta sweeps LAG once again, so really anybody is in play from Atlanta. Cellium, Abezy, Simp being the top plays. Arcitys if you need a cheaper captain option.

PaulEhx: Paul made a statement coming into the league. He is going absolutely berzerk and has brought London out from the dead. Carrying them to a 2-1 record since joining and sweeping LAG and beating LA Thieves to a pulp in a 3-1 victory. All of Pauls's games so far have resulted in 100+ DKP and even in their one loss scored the most points he has so far at 134 DKP with 98 kills. Let's just say Paul has shown his worth to his team and is here to stay. He is 2nd in Overall K/D, 5th in time spent in the hardpoint hill, 3rd in SnD K/D, 2nd in KPR in SnD, and 1st in both Kills Per 10 minutes and K/D in Control. He's playing at an elite level right now and it's going to be hard to ignore. He has also been using the Krig 6, a gun that got buffed in the recent update which makes me like this play even more.

Other captain plays: Cellium, Simp, Octane, Gunless, Zed, Shotzzy, Illey(Punt Captain Option)

COD DFS Value Plays

Prestinni: Prestinni is playing so well right now. It's crazy that he is so cheap right now. We are getting 100 DKP upside in someone who is only 6,400$. DraftKings isn't pricing him up since Seattle is underdogs in this one. I don't think that should be the case though. Seattle has won 2 of their last three games and almost knocked off Dallas Empire as well. They get a struggling Optic team and I think this is going to be some low-owned upside that we can still take advantage of as long as Seattle continues to play well. Prestinni has gone +11, +5, and +8 in his last three games, I'm gonna be on Prestinni until Seattle dives.

Dylan: Not often, I get to talk London, but they are playing very well right now and Dylan is doing really well and we are getting him pretty cheap as well. The matchup is great as well against a poor Toronto team. Dylan has had 112, 107, and 108 in his last three games. and his average is 88.4 DKP per game which seems low but if you take out his 55 and 32 DKP games he is averaging 103.3. We are getting insanely good value in Dylan and if they continue to play well, I expect Dylan to continue as well. He struggles in SnD but has played well in Hardpoint and Control and is getting quite a few kills in both those games modes. He and PaulEhx are great stacking partners in this game.

Other value plays: Illey, Slacked, Neptune

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta FaZe: At this point, it's a free pass to a win. They are 11-0 and have shown no signs of stopping. and LAG is not the team that I see having a chance here tomorrow. Everybody is in play here and this is the easiest path to a sweep. The only chance I see LAG even winning one map is in SnD and that's not very high considering FaZe is one of the best SnD teams in the league. Roster them and don't look back.

London Royal Ravens: London has been looking good since PaulEhx and Zed have joined. I think the matchup here is really good against a Toronto team that barely beat LAG who is one of the worst in the league right now. I expect London to continue their hot streak and play well here against Toronto. London hasn't been the greatest SnD team, so I think London wins this one 3-1 and PaulEhx and Zed should eat very well here and get lots of kills. Dylan, I like it as a cheap option from London as well as he has been playing well recently also. Seany has been inconsistent and I just can't take the risk on him. Without the sweep, he has been a punching bag and dies a lot.

Other Team Plays: Dallas Empire, Seattle Surge, Florida Mutineers(GPP)

Summary

  1. TLDR: Dallas 3-1, Seattle Surge 3-1, London 3-1, Atlanta 3-0
  2. Atlanta Cash Stack
  3. London is one of my favorite secondary stacks.
  4. Seattle is going to be low-owned as people will always play Optic when they are favored.
  5. Dallas/Florida game might go overlooked with other teams looking more favorable.
