Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (2/27/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 2/27/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! That did not go quite as planned, after a great day yesterday, today was not as much. After I touted heavily on the Toronto side they decided they didn't want to play the last search and Destroy map well and lost the match. Cammy and Cleanx still played well and scored decently but not as well as they could have for sure. TJ was on the downward spiral as I expected and Slasher went off as the Thieves took out the Ravens in 4. Last but not least Shotzzy returned to MVP form and dropped 100 kills with his teammate Huke as they performed the first reverse Sweep of this CDL Season.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great week of COD DFS! Today we have Toronto rebounding after a tough loss to take on the LA Guerrillas, we also have the top team in Atlanta FaZe going up against a Paris team that looks to be better than what their record shows taking down Florida and Toronto. Will they be able to take down the Atlanta FaZe as well? Last but not least we also have London Royal Ravens taking on Minnesota Rokkr!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Saturday, February 27th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Atlanta Home Series

Best of 5

  • Minnesota (-750) vs. London Royal Ravens (+450)
  • Toronto Ultra (-240) vs. LA Guerrillas (+170)
  • Atlanta FaZe (-1200) vs. Paris Legion (+525)

 Slate Overview

Unless Paris pulls off something miraculous the oddsmakers tend to think this one is going to end in a sweep and I think I have to agree with that. FaZe is just such a good team right now and it's going to be difficult for Paris to pull off this big of a game. They have looked better and Skrapz and Aqua have stepped up in big ways to help this team excel but FaZe is just another breed of a team right now compared to the opponents Paris has a beat, which Atlanta has taken down both those teams so far. Look for Abezy and Simp to lead the way to a quick 3-0 victory here.

I don't think the oddsmakers are giving London much credit here, yes they have lost every game so far this season but they have kept it close with both LA Thieves and Dallas Empire. Do I think Minnesota wins this? Yeah, definitely but -750 is quite a lot for a team that's coming off a brutal loss to the New York Subliners. Minnesota is going to definitely need to rework their strategy coming into this one and figure it out or they could be in for a surprise if London continues to up their tempo and make this game interesting. Accuracy and Attach are playing at a high level right now and should be able to take control of this one. But look out for Seany and Parasite to make this one interesting.

Last but not least. Toronto needs to wake up, They played horribly in the last game against Paris. Cammy and Cleanx still scored well but man to lose at the end like that was brutal to watch. This one is going to be a fun game to watch though as both of these teams are 1-3 and are going to be fighting for a decent ranking in the first Major of the year next week. I would not be surprised though to watch this match go to 5 games as both teams have their strengths and weaknesses. LA in Hardpoint and Toronto in Search and Destroy. It comes down to Control where I give Toronto the slight edge as they have one win in the Control this season where LAG has lost all 4. Give me 3-2 Toronto.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Simp: Simp has been godly and is 3rd in overall K/D at 1.30 and is Top 5 in both S&D and Control K/D at 1.59 and 1.48 in the league! He is very pricy though at 10.2k we are looking to try and get a lot of points out of him and he has done just that all season, getting at least 115 in every match this season. He is a great place for a Captain but is pricy and could affect the rest of your lineup but has been very consistent this season and if they get a sweep he is up for a big scoring day. He and Abezy have been insane this season and I expect that to continue into this one as they should dominate against Paris.

Accuracy:  Although they have struggled, Accuracy has played extremely well in hardpoint and is 2nd on his team in time in the hill. He has positive games in all but one hardpoint game this season as well. So even in losses, Accuracy has still shown promise in tough matches and scored well as well positing a few 30 plus kill games, London has been a solid hardpoint team so far this year which should give accuracy the chance to rack up quite a few kills in the process with Minnesota hopefully winning as well. Accuracy has been extremely good at S&D as well where he has 1.21 K/D and is racking up about 28% of the kills on his team in this game mode. He is also 2nd on his team in Control Kills per game and the top K/D in Control. He has been the clear leader of his team and has looked good so far this season.

Other captain plays: Attach, Cammy, Cleanx, Abezy

COD DFS Value Plays

Arcitys: I don't normally like rostering Arcitys but his price and matchup are too juicy to leave it off the table. In a 3 game match, Arcitys had a total of 131 DKP. This was with all the sweep bonus and that's honestly all I'm looking for out of arcitys in this case. He needs to look better than he did yesterday though as he struggled severely. The matchup is more favorable though and is a good spot for him to rebound on. At 7,200 we want around 100 DKP at least for him to be worth his price. He is a great pair with Simp as he is very expensive.

Methodz: I hate to go back to Methodz on back-to-back slates but they decreased his price and he really is the cheapest player on this slate that I'd personally look at. He can do well in games and 6.2k is just really cheap to think about. If this game goes to 5 games as I predict it could be interesting to see if he can have a better game than he did today against Paris. He has 100+ DKP upside in games that he is playing a lot better in and he just had an off-day. He gets another shot at redemption in a good matchup against LAG who dies quite a bit in both hardpoint and Control and this could be a good spot for him to rebound off a rough loss.

Note: All the LAG players are super cheap in this game and if this game does go to at least 4 maps. Assault and Vivid are very good options to try a lower owned team stack or one-off in this situation as they lead their team in kills in Control and Hardpoint for their team and could score well if the match goes long enough.

Other value plays: Seany, Priestahh, Vivid, Assault, alexx

COD DFS Stacks

Atlanta: FaZe is going to be our chalk stack. I don't see Paris pulling off the upset here. Atlanta is just better in every single game mode especially hardpoint and S&D and that might be enough to knock Paris out of this game. At most I see this game going to 4 games with Paris winning in Control but I'd be surprised to see that. Simp has been one of the best players in the league so far this year and is a top play on this slate. Abezy looked good as well on Thursday and DK priced him up in the process. Cellium was a mediocre play yesterday but is still in play as he has stayed pretty consistent this season. Arcitys on the other hand as taken a tumble after his impressive first showing under the FaZe banner dropping 131 DKP. He had 35 DKP in his last outing which was absolutely horrid. He's in consideration today as he is cheap and the matchup is very favorable. We are looking for the sweep in rostering Atlanta. This is the best chance for it here.

MinnesotaMinnesota has struggled in Hardpoint this year, but looked really good against Seattle earlier this week who has been a decent team in hardpoint so far this season. They excel in Control and S&D and have been very dominant here. They are playing well in these hardpoint games, they are just struggling to close them out. As all of their hardpoint games except two of them have been within 50 points. Accuracy and Attach have been very solid and consistent here. MajorManiak I don't want any of as he has played poorly this season so far. Priestahh has played well in games where the team as a whole is playing well and winning games. In games they have lost, Priestahh has had two sub 50 point performances. I do think they win this one so Priestahh could be a good option in a Minnesota stack.

Other Team Plays: Toronto Ultra, LA Guerrillas

Summary

  1. TLDR: Atlanta FaZe 3-0, Minnesota 3-1, Toronto 3-2
  2. FaZe is going to be chalky but on an uncertain slate with the other two games, This is a safe place to start. Grab Simp!
  3. These other two games are tossups here Minnesota is the next team I like, but I do worry about their record in hardpoint. If you go London route, Seany is a great place to start.
  4. Toronto/LAG could be a good place to look more at players rather than a team as a whole. Cause it could go 5 games and at that point, anybody could score well.
