Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (2/25/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 2/25/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! TJHALY KILLED IT!!!! Just for Kenny to let me down. Optic we hit right on the nail with the 3-1, but I was quite surprised to see London make a run on Dallas taking it to the final map. Seattle I could see it though as Gunless and Octane are great players and have just lacked that extra piece to make them serious contenders and couldn't quite close it out on both S&D maps.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great week of COD DFS! Today's set of games will be a great one! We have a great matchup between Minnesota Rokkr and the surging New York Subliners. As well as Optic taking on the LA Guerrillas and finishing the day off with the COD Marquee matchup of Atlanta FaZe taking on the Florida Mutineers!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Thursday, February 25th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Atlanta Home Series

Best of 5

  • Optic Chicago (-525) vs. LA Guerrillas (+315)
  • Atlanta FaZe (-200) vs. Florida Mutineers (+150)
  • Minnesota Rokkr (-190) vs. New York Subliners (+150)

 Slate Overview

Yep after that performance by Chicago today... Everybody and their brother are going to be right back on them tomorrow. And honestly, I can't disagree. They are clearly in the best spot here for a sweep or a really high-scoring 4 gamer. Envoy absolutely demolished in Hardpoint averaging over 2 and a half minutes in the hill and throughout the match, he had the highest K/D of the day with 1.37. He is a great spot to go back to, as well as the rest of the team Scump and Formal looked much improved from their previous game and I think they continue to roll into this one with a lot of momentum and take the brooms right from under the Guerrillas feet and sweep them away.

I'm excited for this Minnesota vs NYS game. I believe its a lot closer than the line appears, and I'm going to say New York upsets Minnesota here, New York Subliners looked fantastic in Hardpoint against London, and with Minnesota only winning 1 out of 5 hardpoints games this season, I really like NYS to win the Hardpoint maps but lose in S&D. This game will more than likely come down to Control and whoever wins this will come out on top of this one but I think this only goes to 4 games with an NYS 3-1 win.

I'm not gonna pick Florida, I won't do it as much as I want to. Atlanta is a different breed and after a devastating loss that Florida took against Paris, it just increases my belief in Atlanta taking this one by storm. The only chance I see Florida winning a game is in Control as Atlanta is so much better in both Hardpoint and S&D, so I'm gonna give Florida the benefit of the doubt and say Atlanta wins 3-1 but I wouldn't be surprised if Atlanta swept them either. Simp is a god...

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Simp: Simp is currently averaging a 1.42 K/D which is second in the league only behind Huke at the moment. He is the clear best play on this slate and will more than likely be above 50% owned. Which I understand completely. He is one of the best players in the league and has been for quite some time. He is averaging 118 DKP per match and is averaging 71 kills per match. His price is worth every penny and I love the discount we get here Dashy with him topping the pricing scale. Whether you have him in the captain spot or in the flex, he is the closest thing to a lock you can get to.

Envoy: Envoy had just under 5 minutes in the hardpoint between both hardpoint games played in today's match against Toronto and that tends to add up the points when it comes down to it. Adding an extra 27.8 points to his final score of 132 and being one of the highest-scoring players on the slate today. He wasn't priced up either unlike his teammate Dashy who is very expensive. The pivot to Envoy is going to be popular but I really like the matchup and going to Envoy is going to give us a lot more salary to work with elsewhere. He currently has a 1.11 K/D and the price is 8.8k is hard to ignore.

Other captain plays: Clayster, Accuracy, Dashy, Owakening (GPP)

COD DFS Value Plays

Asim: Something I really like about Asim is his ability to produce even when his team is losing. He has nearly the same amount of DKP from the game they got swept vs the game they swept. We are getting him at a really nice discount for him averaging 113 DKP per match so far this season. I do like the matchup as well against a team who isn't great at Hardpoint. Asim is 5th in the standings in hardpoint K/D at 1.27 so far this season. If NYS can push the match to 4 games as I expect them to. Asim has the chance to get more than 80 kills and u really like that for 7.8k. Asim is by far one of my favorite Value plays on this slate.

Cellium/Abezy: With the line movement heading heavily towards Atlanta I'm surprised to see both of these guys here for under 8k. Cellium and Abezy have both posted positive K/Ds so far this season and with an encouraging matchup against Florida who is clearly struggling to get a groove and Atlanta will be able to take advantage of that and put them even farther out of their groove. This is not the matchup you want for a rebound. Both of these are in great spots and will pair well with Simp for an Atlanta stack. Cellium is a little bit more consistent with his scoring but Abezy has that boom or eh potential. I don't want to say bust because he definitely isn't a bust type. He is just either having an okay day or he goes off and scores extremely well. Cellium is the safer play though.

Other value plays: Mack, DiamondCon, FormaL, Priestahh

COD DFS Stacks

Optic Chicago: Optic looked fantastic today against Toronto, only dropping S&D which is where Toronto excels at so I did expect that. LA Guerrillas really have shown no game mode they excel at more than another. They might pull out a match in S&D at most as Optic has struggled there but like Atlanta, I would not be surprised if Optic also came out with the brooms and swept tomorrow. FormaL looked much improved today as well as Scump. Envoy and Dashy did their thing and killed it as per usual. All guys are definitely in play here with my favorites being Envoy, Dashy, and FormaL as the price on Scump is a little steep at the moment, and prefer FormaL's hardpoint time as he is 2nd in the league with the most time-averaged in the hill and his price is much more intriguing over Scumps.

Atlanta: I really love Atlanta in this spot. Florida is struggling a lot and this is the last team you want to struggle against. Atlanta is superior in Hardpoint and S&D, they are about even when it comes to Control and that's where I'm going to give Florida a chance here to win one. But I would not be surprised if Atlanta brought the brooms out and swept Florida out of here. They are a top team to stack and I really don't have anything to discredit Atlanta right now. Their whole team is playing at an excellent level and is going to be a tough team to beat here all season long. I'm honestly surprised the line isn't larger than -200 at the moment. Stacking wise though Simp is definitely the priority and I recommend either pairing with Abezy or Cellium as they fit better than Arcitys does who is about 800$  more expensive.

Other Team Plays: NY Subliners, Minnesota Rokkr

Summary

  1. TLDR: Optic Chicago 3-0, NYS 3-1, Atlanta 3-1.
  2. New York is my upset pick for today as I think they have a really good team and if they carry the momentum from the last game, they could be a very high-scoring team, and I think they will be lower owned than Minnesota. New York is a better Hardpoint team and has been pretty good on Control as well. S&D is the only part here that worries me as Minnesota is a great S&D team, but if NYS can beat them everywhere else it won't matter, and this game won't need a Game 5.
  3. Optic is going to be chalky after their big win against Toronto today.
  4. FaZe is going to be FaZe and will more than likely smoke Florida just like Paris did yesterday. Play Simp.
  5. Note: For some reason, Draft Kings has Abezy labeled as Free Agents. That is Abezy and it's a mistake.
