Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (2/13/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy eSports

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 2/13/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Today and Yesterday pretty much went to plan as Dallas, Atlanta, and Optic all put out very quick sweeps, the game that did surprise me was Minnesota getting taken out fairly quick, I learned that Minnesota struggles heavily on Hardpoint so that something to look out for in the future. LA Thieves did look very dominant though and could be a dangerous team to look out for in the future.

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test!

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings and FanDuel for Saturday, February 13, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Paris Legion Home Series Semifinals

Best of 5

  • LA Thieves (-175) vs. New York Subliners (+125)
  • Toronto Ultra (+175) vs. Florida Mutineers (-240)
  • Paris Legion (-170) vs. LA Guerrillas (+125)

Slate Overview

Welcome Back Rotoballers to another COD Slate.  We have a great set of games tomorrow! LA Thieves showed on Thursday that they aren't to be messed with as they smoked Minnesota on both hardpoint maps. They are one of the best hardpoint teams in the league and I expect that to continue going into tomorrow against the Subliners. The subliners did a full overhaul on their team from last year only keeping Mack. They brought in Clayster from Dallas which is a great pickup but I don't think it's going to be enough with them bringing in their rookie Diamoncon and Asim as the other two on the team. I think LA Thieves takes this 3-1 winning both the hardpoints and scoring very well.

Next game we have Florida Mutineers taking on Toronto Ultra. Mutineers kept their entire roster from last year, and towards the end of the season they started becoming a top-tier team with Owakening stepping up and taking over as the clear leader of this team and that should continue coming into this season. In the preseason challenge, Florida took down FaZe in a 5 game match where Florida smoked them in both Search and Destroy Maps. Toronto on the other hand was a mid-tier team all year long last year and didn't make many offseason moves to improve their roster and they probably will stay in that middle of the league where they beat the bottom feeders and get blown out by the top teams. This is where I believe this game goes, Florida is a very good team and they have a very solid rookie in Neptune this year. Florida is very slept on and I do think they emerge as a top team this year and beat Toronto in sweeping fashion.

Last but not least we have Paris vs LAG, which is my least favorite game on this slate as it is two bottom-tier teams playing each other and it honestly could go either way. Both teams played tough games today against Optic and Atlanta to start off the year both being swept. Both teams are very good at Hardpoint and that is probably where this game is going to depend on. I'm giving the edge to Paris in this as they have the better pieces in Classic and Skrapz, Fire and Aqua though looked very poor today and that's what hurt them severely against Optic. They will need to step up to make this a competitive series. I'm going 3-2 Paris in this one.

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played is as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Owakening: Last year Owakening came into the league and just took over this Florida team. Throughout the season he averaged over 102 DKP per game. This number is going to increase exponentially with all the new bonuses added to the scoring rules on Draft Kings. We do get him at a discount that I'm loving as well compared to the three above him. Florida has our highest odds on the slate and I expect Owakening to be a large part of a push for a sweep tomorrow. Owakening dropped a whopping 90 kills in the 5 game match against FaZe that they won!

Slasher/Kenny: Both of these guys looked great in their win against Minnesota yesterday and it looks like they are going to continue their level of play from last year. This is definitely a team that could sneak up in the playoffs and surprise a lot of people. If they can shut down Mack and Clayster tomorrow they are going to dominate this game. Slasher had gone 66/63 and Kenny went 78/73 on the day. Both of these guys killed it and were able to score very well in the process. That extra hardpoint map can be a very crucial area for players to get an extra 20-30 points depending on how well they do kill wise and how long they are in the point for. Both of these guys can be crucial pieces to a lineup and if you can fit both even better.

Other captain plays: Assault, Skyz, Mack(GPP)

COD DFS Value Plays

TJHaly: TJ turned up the heat yesterday and looked better than ever after a rough year playing Modern warfare he looks a lot more controlled and was able to make a lot of great plays coming into this tournament. He went 78/73 on the day and was a crucial part in leading this team to a win against Minnesota to start the tournament. If he can keep this level of play up I don't expect to see him being a value play for much longer. He had a total of 100 DKP in yesterday's game and if Thieves manage to sweep tomorrow we could see that total jump closer to 120 or more.

Neptune:  I love the value we are getting on Neptune here at 7k. He looked like he had been playing COD on a pro team for years. He dropped 89 kills in the preseason challenge against FaZe. He took over Havoks position this year as he beat him out for the starting position. I would not be surprised if Neptune gets a price increase by next week's games as he is looking good and hopefully he continues this level of play into tomorrow. Let's get on this rookie before everyone else does!

Other value plays: Classic, Clayster, Slacked, Temp

COD DFS Stacks

LA Thieves: Thieves surprised me as they smoked Minnesota and if they can do that against them, I fully expect them to take on NYS with full force and win this match. Slasher and Kenny looked great as well as TJhaly. This whole team quite impressed me and they are a top team to stack tomorrow. TJHaly is one of my favorite value pieces coming into this slate as he went for 78 kills and had 74 deaths posting just over a 1.0 K/D which is great especially his price at 7,400. This whole team looked great together yesterday and I do think this continues as they play more and more together.

FloridaAs I said in the slate overview, Florida is a dominant team and this game should be a quick one and with how the scoring on DK is, I want a lot of Florida. Owakening is a top Captain spot going into this and I like the value in Neptune. It's a risk rostering a rookie so early into the season as we don't know how he will compete in the regular season but of all the rookies this year Neptune is the one I want to hop on early. Skyz is also in a great spot and if you are looking for a lower owned captain Skyz is in a great spot to smash. Florida 3-0 is where I think this goes.

Other Team Plays: Paris Legion, LA Guerrillas
