Bucky Irving fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 3 (2024). Should you start or sit Bucky Irving for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Bench in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: RB3
ANALYSIS: Bucky Irving should be in your fantasy lineups for the game against the Broncos, but only if Rashaad White is unable to play.
With White being limited in practice on Wednesday, there’s uncertainty around his availability, which could open the door for Irving to take on a larger role. If White is ruled out, Irving has the potential to step in as the lead back, making him a valuable option against a Broncos defense that has struggled to contain the run.
If Rashaad White does play, Bucky Irving should not be started in any fantasy leagues. With White healthy, he will likely resume his role as the primary back, which would limit Irving's touches and impact on the game.
Given the competitive nature of NFL offenses, Irving would likely see only a few opportunities, making it difficult for him to contribute meaningfully in fantasy scoring. Last week, Irving ran the ball seven times for 22 yards. In Week 1, he had nine attempts for 62 yards.
Unless White is officially ruled out, keeping Irving on the bench and looking for more reliable options in your lineup is best. Irving’s opportunities may be significantly reduced, making relying on him in your lineup risky.
Keep a close eye on White’s status leading up to the game to make an informed decision about starting Irving.
