Al Horford is worth considering as a fantasy basketball waiver wire pickup heading into Week 20 of the 2022-23 NBA season.

ANALYSIS: The Celtics keep churning out wins (unless they play teams from New York, it seems) and veteran Al Horford is a big (literally) part of that. Horford was the go-to starter at the C position in Boston's lineups but he's moved to the starting PF role since mid-January to make room for the returning Robert Williams.
Horford wasn't a great fantasy asset to have around from mid-December to the final days of January but he's come back to his best self of late and mostly since the trade deadline. In fact, Horford has reached at least 20 FP in all but one of the games he's played from Feb. 12 (seven of them) through Friday, and in the one in which he failed he still dumped 13 points (including hitting three 3PM) to go with a couple of rebounds and a dime.
Big Al has averaged 13 PPG, 6+ RPG, and nearly 3 APG in his last seven games. He's logging his usual 31 MPG on terrible below-15% usage rates but he's doing what he's asked for by grabbing rebounds, keeping up gaudy shooting percentages from the field (59 FG%), and hitting long-range shots when called upon (3.3 3PM per game in his last seven).
Not the greatest of performers out there if you're a GM hunting for big fantasy numbers, but a steady and reliable veteran to bank on if you need real help with guaranteed minutes and a role in a Finals-bound squad.
