DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/30/21): MLB DFS Lineups

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - Fantasy Baseball

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/30/21. Mike Marteny's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

It's getaway day in MLB today. There are four earlier games for those teams that really can't wait to get out of town. We will concentrate on the ten-game main slate that begins at 7:05 pm Eastern. There are only two pitchers priced in five figures, but there are another eight that top $8,000. Let's see who's worth the effort and whether any of the guys coming off the IL are in consideration.

It is going to be very hot and humid in New York and Philly with the wind blowing out to right. Good luck finding better hitting conditions. Rain might be a problem in Boston and Cincinnati, but if the games play, it's going to be nice and humid. The same is true for the Jays in Buffalo. Those games don't have as nice of a wind as the Yankees and Phillies do. Cleveland will also have to watch for rain, but it isn't quite at hot there on Lake Erie.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings on 6/30/2021. The lineup will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays. You can also check out today's FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks and read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports too. DraftKings DFS Starting Pitchers

Chris Bassitt - OAK at TEX ($10,500)

Bassitt has been slightly worse on the road this year, but not alarmingly so. Besides, the new Globe Life Park is one of the few places that might be considered a pitching upgrade to his home park. Bassitt held the Rangers to one run in seven innings in their first meeting, picking up 20.4 DraftKings points in the process. Bassitt doesn't put up huge strikeout numbers, so it's hard to pay five figures and feel supremely confident in it, but this is a slate where few pitchers will break 20. He's worth it in cash games. In GPP formats, I don't mind taking the chance with a fade.

Max Fried - ATL vs. NYM ($8,300)

This is a tough one because he was just sidelined with a blister. However, not everyone is Rich Hill. There's enough to like here about Fried to take the risk. He is 16-7 with a 3.22 ERA in 31 career home starts. He also has a 2.73 ERA in 56 career innings against the Mets. The Mets have shown more power this month, but they are hitting for the lowest average so far this season in June. The Mets have only scored more than four runs twice in the last two weeks. This is as good a situation for Fried as you can ask for.

Other Options: Aaron Nola ($10,200), Joe Musgrove ($9,200), Martin Perez ($6,500)

DraftKings DFS Infielders

Luis Torrens - C, SEA vs. TOR at Buffalo ($2,300)

Torrens had a three RBI game against Steven Matz last year, but that's only part of the story. He mashes lefties, has three homers in the past five games, and four multi-hit games in the last eight. Matz is on a pitch limit, but this is a great hitter's park against a somewhat shaky bullpen as well. Torrens should be good for a hit or two here at a very low price.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 1B, TOR vs. SEA at Buffalo ($5,900)

Vlad is the new Miguel Cabrera. He has awesome power and can hit for average. Are some of those stats inflated by not playing at Rogers Centre? Maybe. He is hitting .395 with 16 homers and 39 RBI in 33 games between Dunedin and Buffalo. However, he still has impressive road numbers, so everything he does is legit. It may as well be batting practice for Vlad today against Justus Sheffield, who has allowed eight homers over 19 innings in his last four starts. Find a way to afford Vlad today. He's getting something.

Jake Cronenworth - 2B, SD at CIN ($5,300)

Cronenworth has six homers, 15 runs scored, and 14 RBI in the last 12 games alone. He hasn't been held scoreless for DFS purposes since Flag Day. Vladimir Gutierrez had his worst career start so far in San Diego back on June 19, giving up five runs in five innings. Cronenworth was responsible for two of those. He hit a two-run homer off of him. Considering that this is in an even more hitter-friendly park tonight, I like the odds for the red-hot Cronenworth.

Abraham Toro - 3B, HOU vs. BAL ($3,500)

Toro has been a solid fill in with Alex Bregman out. The only thing we know from his brief 17-game stint this year is that he really likes facing the Orioles. Five of his 17 games have come against Baltimore, but one of his two homers and seven of his 13 RBI have come against them. Toro is also hitting .421 at home compared to .133 on the road. He's at home facing Baltimore and a starting pitcher with an ERA of 7.54. Good things should be coming for Toro and the Astros tonight.

J.P. Crawford - SS, SEA vs. Toronto at Buffalo ($3,400)

Yeah, I'm still stuck on this game. Crawford is for a different reason than Torrens though. Crawford is leading off against a pitcher fresh off the IL. Oh, and he is hitting .347 against lefties this year. Crawford has had an outstanding June for the Mariners, hitting .347 with three of his five homers, 14 of his 30 RBI, and two of his three steals coming this month. I'm staying he'll finish the month off right.

DraftKings DFS Outfielders

J.D. Martinez - OF, BOS vs. KC ($5,500)

Mike Minor might troll us here, but I'll still say that J.D. flirts with double-digit DraftKings points. Martinez is 9-16(.562) with a triple, a homer, three runs scored, three RBI, and two walks against Minor in his career. He has even stolen a base! What more do you want? Martinez has nine hits against Minor in his career. The rest of his teammates have 14 in 74 at bats. He's a great one-off play tonight.

Kyle Tucker - OF, HOU vs. BAL ($4,300)

Look, I love Yordan Alvarez. He's the most complete player Houston has, but $6,000 for him is a bit much, especially if we don't want to punt our second pitcher. I present Tucker as a very suitable plan B. Tucker is hitting .346 with two homers, six RBI, and five runs scored in the last nine games. Those numbers come close to what Alvarez is providing at a fraction of the price. If you find yourself in more of a price pinch, I have no issues moving down to the similarly red-hot Myles Straw.

Hunter Renfroe - OF, BOS vs. KC ($3,600)

Renfroe has a reputation of being an all-or-nothing type of player, so I suppose it's only fitting that Renfroe's only career hit off of Mike Minor is a home run. Renfroe is on fire again after an early June swoon, hitting .356 with four homers and 13 RBI in his last 12 games. I see Renfroe as a great GPP option here with very favorable hitting conditions in Boston. Minor has hit the skids of late anyway, allowing 21 runs in 31.1 innings over his last five starts. He's allowing a lot more fly balls, including six homers in that span.
