ANALYSIS: Detroit Tigers first baseman/second baseman Jonathan Schoop has been absolutely on fire lately. Over a six-game stretch from May 27 to June 1, Schoop compiled four multi-hit games and blasted four home runs.

GAIN ACCESS NOWSchoop got off to a dreadful start of the year. He was batting under .200 by mid-May, but his recent hot stretch has increased his season-long slash line to .246/.296/.387.
Schoop ranks in the 96th percentile of the league in max exit velocity (115.3 mph). He's been a reliable source of home runs and overall power for the bulk of his career, highlighted by his 32 home run season in 2017. He quietly had a productive first year with the Tigers in 2020, slashing .278/.324/.475 with eight home runs and 23 RBI over 44 games. However, most fantasy managers who took note of his production in 2020 probably abandoned ship after he slashed .198/.230/.284 with just two home runs this April.
Anyone in need of second base help should take a hard look at Schoop. He'll run hot and cold over the course of the year, but he should be able to muster over 20 home runs by the end of the year as long as he stay's healthy.
