Call of Duty DFS Lineup Picks (2/26/21) - DraftKings Daily Fantasy

Koby Hanson's DraftKings DFS lineup picks for Call of Duty on 2/26/21. He analyzes the COD slates and top lineup targets for eSports DFS contests.

Hello there eSports DFS enthusiasts, and welcome back to RotoBaller's coverage of Call of Duty DFS contests for DraftKings! So that went as planned pretty much, Envoy didn't have the greatest day but still did well. Also, the Subliners pulling off the sweep!!! Both optic and Atlanta both allowed their opponent to surprisingly win in hardpoint on the first match and then proceeded to win 3 straight. Definitely a slate I don't have many complaints about and I'm ready to get on to this next slate of games!

This is easily one of my favorite sports to cover here at Rotoballer because I play a ton of COD myself and I like to think I'm pretty good at it as well. I have been following the COD League for about five years now and I finally get to put all this knowledge to the test! My Name is Koby and I'll be here all season long to help guide you through the COD DFS world. Welcome back to another great week of COD DFS! We have a bunch of great games ahead of us as London Royal Ravens take on the hot LA Thieves, as well as Toronto taking on Paris who is looking to get their first win of the year. Last but not least my favorite match of the day. New York Subliners taking on the reigning champs in Dallas Empire! Now let's get into it.

Today I'll be bringing you my COD DFS advice, analysis, and lineup picks for eSports DFS contests on DraftKings for Friday, February 25th, 2021, at 3:00 PM. Feel free to follow me on Twitter @DFSKoby or find me in the slack as I am happy to engage with readers and try to answer your questions!

Call of Duty: Atlanta Home Series

Best of 5

  • LA Thieves (-800) vs. London Royal Ravens (+475)
  • Toronto Ultra (-300) vs. Paris Legion (+220)
  • Dallas Empire (-290) vs. New York Subliners (+210)

 Slate Overview

This LA Thieves team is one of the most exciting teams to watch in the CDL at the moment. They are playing really good COD right now and are definitely a top contender to win the CDL Championship. They are one of very few teams that I could see beating the Atlanta FaZe right now. This matchup against London is a perfect way to start the day. London was able to take it to 5 games with Dallas yesterday but I'm not sure if that helps them in any way coming into this one other than maybe a slight confidence boost? Thieves continue to roll and bring the brooms with them.

I have not had a chance to tout some Toronto Ultra yet this year and this is the perfect slate to do it against our league's worst Paris Legion who is coming off a recent sweep of Florida but I'm not sure that means much as it did at the beginning of the season. Although Toronto has lost 3-1 against both FaZe and Optic and a 3-1 win over Florida. They are staying very competitive in these games and Cammy has been eating kills all season long so far and is going to be a very good play coming into this one.

Last but not least we have Dallas and NYS. NYS is coming off two big wins in a sweeping fashion over Minnesota and London. The Subliners are coming in looking like they have something to prove and I'm totally sold on it. This is going to be a make it or break it type game for them though as Dallas is a tough opponent and really test how good the Subliners are. This is going to be a bloodbath, and I think having players from both sides could be crucial here in making lineups as I don't think this one ends up being a sweep and will more than likely be a bloody 5 game match!

COD DFS Basics

  1. Like in CSGO, players receive two points for a kill and are penalized -1 for dying. Therefore, the simplest stat to look at here is K/D ratio. However, players can also earn fantasy points for planting or defusing bombs (three points each) in Search and Destroy rounds, so there are some players who we can target for other skills besides their ability to kill the opponent.
  2. You need to roster a team slot on both sites. Teams accrue fantasy points for games won (+4), matches won (+10), and Search and Destroy rounds won (+.5).
  3. Teams will be playing best-of-five matches on a rotation of various game modes. Those modes and the order in which they are played are as follows: Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, Control, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy.
  4. In hardpoint rounds, players with positive K/D ratios are usually the highest scorers and these rounds are often the bloodiest.
  5. They also have changed a game mode from Domination to Control for League play. This is going to be a lot different in gameplay as it's round-based and not the first one to 200. They play first one to 3 round wins. You win by capturing both points or killing the enemy team until they run out of their lives. One team defends and the other attacks.
  6. There is a sweep bonus this year as teams and players both can get a 20 point player sweep and a 5 point team sweep. In the chance, they do sweep they also get granted a bonus of 20 points for not playing hardpoint and a bonus of 5 points for not playing the final Search and Destroy map. So that adds up in a sweep to a total of 45 extra points which are going to be very crucial this year.

COD DFS Captain Considerations

Huke: This man continues to slay, as he has dropped 130+ DKP per game this season and is the league-leading K/D leader currently. He dropped 99 kills in their last outing against London and still has 131 points. In the last two games he has played that went to 5 games, he has dropped an average of 103 kills. His Capture time in the hill has also increased with the addition of the second hardpoint game in his stat lines which is an extra minute plus of time in the hill. 6 points doesn't seem like a lot until that 6 points is the difference between you and a takedown. This is going to be a tough match against a surging subliners team but that hasn't stopped Huke from eating so far this year. He's expensive but worth every penny.

Cammy: Cammy has been crushing this year. He had a rough outing against Atlanta but most teams do and the rest of his team wasn't much help either. Cammy is 3rd in the league in average time in the hill on hardpoint and has shown flashes of massive upside in matches that go 4 games as he absolutely dominates in hardpoint matches, getting around 25 kills per hardpoint match and having games of 30+. We haven't seen so far what a sweep looks like for Toronto as they have played poorly in Control which is where Paris has shown promise. But either way we are looking at 60+ kills in 3 game match and 85+ in a 4 game. Cammy is also quite expensive but as long as Toronto doesn't choke as Florida did against Paris we should be looking at some high scores from a good Toronto team.

Other captain plays: Slasher, TJHaly, Asim, Cleanx, Clayster

COD DFS Value Plays

Illey: Okay I get it, Illey hasn't looked fantastic this year and that's reasonable. But to put him at the very bottom of the pricing scale is absolutely broke. 6k for a player that has very large potential especially in a possible 5 game match is insane. He is inconsistent but even then Dallas is still large favorites coming into this. In his last two games where they went to 5 games, he dropped 78 and 101 kills. Now I'd have to say that's pretty damn good for 6k. I like this guy even as a one-off in this situation as he is dirt cheap and it's gonna be hard to pass up especially in cash games where he will be more than likely to have high ownership. My only worry is the amount that he is dying currently which can cause his stats to drop a bit but as I said 6k is hard to pass up.

Methodz: Methodz has definitely gone under my radar this year as I haven't seen him too much anywhere but surprisingly he has played fairly well this season. With two of his three matches so far this season resulting in positive K/Ds and 90+ DKP scoring performances. He is also really cheap tomorrow at only 6.6k and is quite a bit better than Bance is and is cheaper than him. We are getting great value in playing him as he has been playing very well and is a great pairing with Cammy or Cleanx in a Toronto stack.  He is also getting an average of about 1 minute in hill time on hardpoint. He currently has 1.1 K/D as well and that's pretty good for someone so cheap.

Other value plays: DiamondCon, C6, Temp, Mack

COD DFS Stacks

LA Thieves: Ah yes, It's quite unfortunate that TJHaly got a price bump as I love playing the guy when he is cheap. Now we have to think is he able to continue to put up that many kills and continue to be on a heater like that and the answer is not realistically. 114 kills is quite a lot and him going 12-0 on the final map is unheard of. A lot of people are going to be on him after a 160 DKP performance and I can't blame them, especially if he sweeps we should see another 120 point performance, his price is up there though and if you get the right value he could be a nice addition, just don't expect that insane stat line again. Temp has been heating up as well posting all 100 point performances and rising this season. I like his price right now as he is the cheapest LA guy we can get and he's been very consistent. Let's just hope he keeps it up. Kenny looked horrid in his last game and couldn't get it together, his price dropped like a rock though and that's intriguing, and has a better matchup here against London could be a nice rebound spot for him. And well Slasher always out there killing it and always in play.

Toronto: I've been waiting for a good matchup for Toronto to finally talk about them. They get Paris tomorrow which is a perfect time to talk about the absolute heater Cammy is on right now. Cammy dropped 102 kills in 4 games with over 3 minutes of Control time. This guy is easily the carry here for Toronto and I would love to see how many kills he can get in a 3 gamer and a sweep which is what I'm predicting this to be. I just don't think Paris is good enough to keep up with the higher teams in the league, and the sweep against Florida was just them having a day where they were just On. Toronto is going to be a much tougher opponent and I expect them to win in S&D and Hardpoint and if Paris manages a Control win, then we get an extra map where Cammy can feast. Methodz and CleanX are also playing very well right now and Methodz is very cheap as well. The only one I'm not looking at right now is Bance as he is playing poorly right now and is not scoring well and would be heavily reliant on a sweep bonus to score.

Other Team Plays: NY Subliners, Dallas Empire

Summary

  1. TLDR: LA Thieves 3-0, Toronto 3-1, Dallas 3-2.
  2. Thieves are going to be the main Stack here as they have the highest chance to sweep, but everyone on LA is quite pricy and we aren't getting any discounts on them, but getting at least one player here is going to be critical.
  3. CAMMY, CAMMY, CAMMY! Considering how much I'm touting Cammy today I really hope it pays off for the sake of my Sanity.
  4. This match is going to be a big look into what the rest of the year could look like for both of these teams as NYS is on a heater right now and Dallas is still a very good team in the league. This is honestly a toss-up and I do think the MoneyLine is spread a little too far for this match. I'm leaning Dallas but I also wouldn't be surprised if the Subliners pulled off another major upset.
