FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (9/9/20): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

Troy Klauder highlights the top FanDuel MLB DFS lineup picks for 9/9/20, and a couple of sleepers to consider while building daily rosters.

We've got a few aces on the mound to choose from tonight, and selecting the right one will be pivotal to success. There are also a few interesting lineup stack options to choose from.

We've got plays in both cash games and GPPs to consider, whether they be standalone or as part of a stack.

I'll be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for the FanDuel main slate on 9/9/2020. Be sure to also check out all the MLB player news, including late scratches, and the projected and confirmed daily MLB lineups for each DFS slate. You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for sites like DraftKings, and other sports too.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Yu Darvish - CHC vs CIN ($11,500)

Tonight's main slate is headlined by three NL Cy Young candidates in Yu Darvish, Clayton Kershaw, and Trevor Bauer. All three are strong options, but Bauer has the lowest floor against a strong Cubs lineup, while Kershaw has the lowest ceiling of the bunch with the least strikeout upside. That leaves Darvish as the top option overall, as he's having a brilliant season with a 33.0% K-rate and just a 4.2% walk-rate. He has a good matchup against the Reds, who strike out 24.4% of the time against righties.

Dane Dunning - CWS at PIT ($7,700)

Dunning has impressed through his first three career starts, with 18 strikeouts in 14 innings and a 3.86 ERA. He should continue his success against the weakest lineup in all of baseball against right-handed pitching, the Pirates, who have just a .265 wOBA. While it's tough to avoid one of the high-end starting pitchers in GPP contests, Dunning is a great contrarian option if you want to spend more on hitters. Dunning is also an option to look for in cash games.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Matt Olson - 1B, OAK vs. HOU ($3,100)

While Olson is struggling with his batting average this season, it's encouraging to see a career-high 15.3% walk-rate. Furthermore, he's still hitting for plenty of power with 11 homers. These are signs to buy low on Olson, who has a great matchup tonight against Astros rookie Luis Garcia. Garcia is making just his second big league start and is susceptible to a blow-up outing.

Tommy La Stella - 2B, OAK vs. HOU ($2,900)

Pairing La Stella with Olson is an awesome start to a cheap stack opportunity. La Stella has an extremely low 5.5% K-rate, which is less than half of his 11.6% walk-rate. That gives him great odds at getting on base, and he will have plenty of chances to do so out of the A's leadoff spot.

Yoan Moncada - 3B, CWS at PIT ($3,100)

White Sox hitters don't come very cheap these days, so Moncada is a steal at this price batting second in a high-powered offense. The White Sox lineup has the second-highest implied run total on the slate according to Vegas, so Moncada will see run and RBI opportunities.

Corey Seager - SS, LAD at ARI ($4,000)

Seager is scorching hot at the plate right now, batting .365 over the last two weeks. He's absolutely dominating righties this year with an absurd 201 wRC+, and that should continue against Diamondbacks starter Taylor Clarke. Clarke has outperformed his 4.74 FIP with a lucky .194 BABIP, so don't expect him to stop Seager or the Dodgers offense.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Nick Solak - OF, TEX vs LAA ($2,700)

Solak doesn't offer much in terms of power or speed, but he is still a cash game play to consider batting third for the Rangers. Opposing starter Julio Teheran has a disastrous 7.94 ERA in 2020, so Solak is a low-cost option who can help fill out your lineup and produce counting stats.

Starling Marte - OF, MIA @ ATL ($3,000)

Marte is off to a hot start with his new team in Miami, and he now has four homers to go with six steals. This upside makes him worth a look in GPP tournaments. Marte will bat second against Tommy Milone, who has a 5.30 ERA with a 1.77 HR/9.

Trent Grisham - OF, SDP vs COL ($3,200)

Grisham has an .883 OPS against righties and is in a spot to score plenty of runs atop the Padres lineup. Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela has just a 15.7% K-rate and a 4.52 SIERA, so Grisham should put the ball in play and do some damage.
