FanDuel MLB DFS Lineup Picks (5/27/18): Daily Fantasy Baseball Advice

We have a large slate today, like we do on every Sunday. The main slate has several ace options for starting pitcher including Chris Sale, Gerrit Cole, and Stephen Strasburg. There are plenty of value options in the middle tiers as well, which should give DFS players plenty of wiggle room to get creative with their lineups. The best stack of the day comes in the form of Matt Harvey as he makes the trip to Coors field to face the Rockies.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel on 5/27/18. The lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays.

You can also read more DFS lineup picks for DraftKings and other sports too. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me up on Twitter @MattWi77iams.

FanDuel DFS Pitchers

Stephen Strasburg - SP, WAS (FD - $10,200)

Strasburg, believe it or not, is coming in at a pretty good value at $10,200 Sunday afternoon. He has a favorable matchup vs. the Miami Marlins and is the easy choice over the other top tier starting pitchers who will cost over $1,000 more. The Washington righty comes into today's contest with a 32% strikeout rate vs right-handed hitters, and a 23% strikeout rate vs left-handed hitters. This is great from the standpoint that we do not need to worry about lineup construction. He will go into the matchup vs. a Marlins team that holds a 23.8% strikeout rate vs right-handed hitters while slashing .228/.294/.341 as a team. The game takes place at a great pitchers park and Strasburg should be in for a big afternoon.

Nick Pivetta - SP, PHI vs TOR (FD - $8,000)

Pivetta carries a 33.9% K rate versus righties this season as e takes on the right-handed heavy Toronto Blue Jays at home Sunday. Luckily, the other team tries to get cute and stack some lefties, Pivetta has a very solid 22% strikeout rate against them as well. Pivetta has only given up one earned run in his last 19 innings and has 43 of his 60 strikeouts on the year pitching at Citizens Bank Park. This seems like a great value for possible SP1 production Sunday afternoon.

FanDuel DFS Infielders

Matt Adams - 1B, WAS @ MIA (FD - $4,000)

Ok, so $4,000 may seem like a high price to pay for Matt Adams, but hear me out. The slugging first baseman hold an incredible .444 wOBA and a .389 ISO vs right-handed pitchers in 2018. Those are video game numbers. He is taking on Marlins' right-hander Eliesner Hernandez, who has allowed a 40% hard contact rate to lefties in his limited amount of work this season.

Tim Anderson - SS, CWS @ DET (FD - $3,000)

Anderson comes into Sunday batting .313/.365/.604 vs. southpaws with a .411 wOBA and .292 ISO. Those numbers alone make the Chicago shortstop a great play anytime he takes on a lefty. Luckily for DFS players Anderson is also red hot at the plate with five hits over the last two games, including three long balls. $3,000 is a steal for the young White Sox infielder and I will happily throw him into any lineup I put together.

Matt Carpenter - 3B, STL @ PIT (FD - $3,300)

In case you haven't noticed, Matt Carpenter has started to wake up. The veteran utility-player is batting .348 with two home runs over the past two weeks and comes into today's game with a favorable matchup against right-hander Jameson Taillon. The Pirates' righty has been getting hit very hard lately, with 27 hits and nine walks allowed over his last 25 innings, including four home runs. Taillon also holds a 5.84 FIP and 1.89 HR/9 at home vs. lefties this season. Toss Carpenter in your lineup and hope he stays hot.

FanDuel DFS Outfielders

Charlie Blackmon - OF, COL vs CIN (FD - $4,700)

If you splurge on just one big hitter for Sunday, make it Charlie Blackmon. The Colorado outfielder is at playing at home today at Coors Field, which is always nice. The great news is that faces off against fallen superhero Matt Harvey and the Cincinatti Reds. The former Mets' righty is getting pounded by left-handed hitters his season, allowing  a .382 wOBA, and a horrendous 2.53 HR/9. Matt Harvey at Coors Field? Start all of your Rockies!

David Dahl - OF, COL vs CIN (FD - $3,400)

Well, the reasons here should be obvious considering the post above. Dahl is batting .333/.389/.509 with a .380 wOBA vs. right-handed pitchers in 2018. He is facing a pretty bad one in Matt Harvey today at home in Coors Field. Great value at $3,400.
