Daily Fantasy Golf DraftKings Picks (PGA DFS): World Golf Championships - Mexico Championship

Welcome back RotoBallers. In this column, I will be providing you with my PGA DFS lineup picks for DraftKings, for the World Golf Championships - Mexico Championship. My goal as always is to help put together your optimal daily fantasy golf lineups.

Rickie Fowler won the Honda Classic at 12- under, four strokes ahead of Morgan Hoffman and Gary Woodland. It wasn't that dominant of a performance though by Fowler. He hit the ball in the water in the beginning of his round and then at the end of his round. He shot a 1- over 71 for his final round. That's not good. Fowler wasn't able to close the tournament without making massive mistakes. This time it didn't cost him, because no one below him could get anything going. Last year at the Phoenix Open, Fowler hit the ball in the water allowing Hideki Matsuyama to come back and win in a four- hole playoff. Johnny Miller correctly pointed out that Fowler's win was nothing but convincing. This was however Fowler's first successful attempt in five tries to close out a win when holding at least a share of a lead entering the final round.

Reviewing Last Week's Picks

Rickie Fowler ($11,900) - WINNER!

Tyrrell Hatton ($8,500) - T4, 7- under. Shot a final round 2- over 72. Started poorly, but rebounded on the back nine. Played well for his first tournament. in the United States though.

Rafael Cabrera- Bello ($8,000) - T37, 1- under

Thomas Pieters ($7,700) - Cut

Ollie Schniederjans ($7,600) - T48, 1- over

Graeme McDowell ($7,300) - T14, 4- under

Jonathan Vegas ($7,100)  - T4, 7- under. He not only outperformed his price by a large amount, but he also made a hole-in- one, which means, bonus points!

Mackenzie Hughes ($6,800) - T66, 7- over

World Golf Championships - Mexico Championship

The World Golf Championships which used to be played at Trump National Doral Miami–the PGA Tour pulled the tournament– will be played in Mexico City at the Club de Golf Chapultepec. This course is 7,780 feet about sea level (one mile= 5,280 feet if you remember from grade school). That's really high in altitude, higher than the Denver Broncos' stadium.  This course is designed for the long hitters who can hit it accurately. Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy may be able to drive it 400- yards.

There will be no cut at this tournament. All players get to play a full four rounds.

All the world's best will be competing at this event. Jason Day will not be competing though due to a double ear infection and the flu. That’s rough. Get well soon Jason!

High Cost Players - Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)

Build a lineup with either: Dustin Johnson ($12,500) or Rory McIlroy ($10,900).

As described above, they will be able to crush the ball on this course. This will be Johnson's first tournament as the world number one. He's first in Tee-to Green, and third in Greens in Regulations. He's also won three World Golf Championship events in the past.

I understand this is McIlroy's first start since the BMW South Africa Open in mid- January because of a stress fracture in his rib. Besides for that he's finished in the top- 10 in four straight tournaments.

Middle Cost Players - Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)

Justin Thomas ($8,700)

Thomas' price dropped sharply from $11,800 last week, because he was cut and this field is a ton better. But, he is 8th in driving distance, which means he will put it close to the green. Thomas is also 38th in Strokes Gained: Around-the- Green. Birdies should come easy to Thomas.

Tyrrell Hatton ($8,300)

I'll keep riding with Hatton. He played great last week. He's finished in the top- 1o in six of his last nine starts.

Byeong- Hun An ($7,500)

I always hear his name being called on the weekend, and regret not choosing him. Well, not this weekend. He's 20th in driving distance, but 170th in SG: Around-the-Green. He hasn't played since finishing T55 at the Genesis Open, but luckily has had two weeks off to prepare for this course.

Low Cost Players - Fantasy Golf Lineup Picks for DraftKings (PGA DFS)

Louis Oosthuizen ($7,200)

Here is the cheap sleeper of the tournament. His price is way way way too low. He finished T21 at the Honda Classic, 3rd at the Phoenix Open, and T41 at the Farmers Insurance at the end of January. While he is only 69th in driving distance, he is 13th in SG: Around-the-Green.

Alexander Noren ($7,200)

The Swede finished T13 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in mid- January, and a week after that, T21 at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. He should be priced higher.

Jonathan Vegas ($7,100)

His past five tournaments: T30, T34, T28, T15, and T4. He's also 52nd in driving distance, and 51st in SG: ATG.

Danny Willett ($6,700)

So I get to have the reigning Masters Champion for this cheap? He was at the Honda Classic, but still. He finished T5 at the Maybank Championship in the beginning of February.
