Fantasy College Basketball CBB Rankings: NCAA Top 10 (1/23/17)

Lauri Markkhanen: The Finnish Fort Knox for Arizona.

Lauri Markkhanen: The Finnish Fort Knox for Arizona.

Will Gonzaga go undefeated? Will the pollsters praise the Big 12 and give Kansas and Baylor their due?

Will Villanova win it all--again?

These aren't questions we can answer in January, but we can tell you our thoughts on the top teams as of now.

Here are our CBB rankings for the week of January 23rd (won-loss records in parentheses).

NCAA College Basketball (CBB) Rankings

1. Kansas, (18-1)

The Jayhawks keep winning, and we've run out of superlatives for their key players. Devonte' Graham (13.5 PPG/4.8 APG) would be "the man" on any other team.

2. Villanova, (19-1)

Okay, things are back to normal in the Big East. 'Nova is still winning and positioning itself well for a repeat in March. An inter-conference match-up against UVA on Sunday might be the only potential speed bump left on the schedule.

3. Baylor, (18-1)

The Bears still look tough to beat as well. 6-10, 230-pound forward Johnathan Motley (15.7 PPG/9.6 RPG) is a BIG Bear.

4. Gonzaga, (19-0)

With only West Coast Conference games remaining until the Big Dance, the 'Zags could run the table. Senior guard Jordan Matthews (10.8 PPG) has emerged as a scoring option of late.

5. Kentucky, (17-2)

We're back on the Blue Bandwagon. At 6-10, 260, freshman forward Edrice Adebayo is already all man. He's shooting 61% from the field and averaging 1.7 blocks per game.

6. Florida State (18-2)

Woah Tallahassee, as Keith Jackson would say. The Seminoles keep winning in the ACC. Guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes' numbers (10.4 PPG/4.8 APG) don't jump off the page, but he's a solid player.

7. UCLA, (19-2)

The Bruins lost a tough one, at Pauley no less, to Arizona. But we still like their depth over the long haul.

8. Oregon, (18-2)

Meanwhile, the Ducks keep winning, even without their best player--future NBA fixture Dillon Brooks. They're doing it with balanced scoring and stout "D." It's not fun to watch, and doesn't produce fantasy metrics, but it sure is effective.

9. Arizona, (18-2)

Lots of Pac-12 love this week, but hey: beating UCLA ain't nothin'. Lauri Markkhanen (17.7 PPG/7.4 RPG) is just a freshman, but he's a seven-footer with a scoring touch, and scouts love that combo.

10. North Carolina, (18-3)

The Heels have three losses, but they also have too much talent to ignore. We still see them as a factor come March. Whether they'll have any first-rounders in the NBA Draft remains to be seen.
