DraftKings Daily Fantasy Basketball Lineup Picks (12/29/16): NBA DFS Advice

Six games make up Thursday night's slate. Mr. Triple-Double faces off against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. But, can anyone or anything actually stop him? Another matchup also intrigues me as two of the worst teams in the Western Conference square off.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings on 12/29/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from some of the elite players to mid-priced options and value plays on DraftKings. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @DemetriRafto.

DraftKings DFS Guards

Kyle Lowry - PG, @ PHO ($8,500)

The Phoenix Suns are taking the court for the second night in a row. Normally, one doesn't need too many reasons to target the Suns in daily fantasy. Although, it doesn't hurt to mention that the team should be slightly fatigued after going up against the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday night.

Lowry is almost automatic for 40-50 fantasy points every time he laces up; solid considering his price is still reasonable. Some might fear the possibility of a blowout, but look for Eric Bledsoe and Tyson Chandler to keep the game close enough for Lowry to play a full slate.

Andrew Harrison - PG, vs OKC ($4,800)

Mike Conley is questionable to play in Thursday's tilt against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Starting for Conley Tuesday night, Harrison dropped 12 points, six assists, five rebounds, and two steals over 44 minutes of court time; good for 30.75 fantasy points. Harrison is certainly handcuffed to the status of Conley, and is a risk considering he's shooting less than 30% from the field all season. But for his price, and the possibility of again playing over 40 minutes, this time against a high-powered Thunder squad, all we need is 20-plus fantasy points.

Seth Curry - SG, @ LAL ($4,100)

A matchup between two of the worst teams in the Western Conference. The Dallas Mavericks sit in dead last, but surprisingly allow only the sixth fewest points in the league per game at 100.7. They simply can't score and are averaging a measly 94.8 points per contest.

Curry has put together three straight productive fantasy showings, and in six of his last seven. Deron Williams is also a solid play here, but Curry is $1,800 cheaper with decent upside to post a fantasy score in the high 20's. Curry isn't shy at attempting to mimic his brother's proclivity of launching from behind the arc. The Lakers are in the bottom 10 of three's allowed per game.

DraftKings DFS Forwards

Josh Richardson - SF/SG, @ CHA ($5,000)

Miami's backcourt could be slightly depleted again Thursday night if Goran Dragic misses his second straight contest. In his absence, Richardson dropped 22 points, grabbed five boards, and dished out three dimes; good for 35.75 fantasy points, his best showing in over 10 games. Tyler Johnson should also be considered, especially if Dragic is held out of action. Richardson won't wow you with his performances, but is a double-digit scoring threat and spreads enough stats to reach value consistently. It also helps that Charlotte has allowed the second most fantasy points to small forwards this season.

Julius Randle - PF/C, vs DAL ($6,500)

We already read all about the Mavericks offensive woes, and their ability to play defense at the same time. That shouldn't stop daily fantasy owners from drafting opposing players. Like Julius Randle. Randle is coming off an explosive 25 point, 12 rebound double-double showing against one of the best defenses in the league (Utah Jazz). Randle's production has steadily improved throughout the latter part of December, and it seems he performs at the level of his competition. He's a high-upside double-double threat every time he laces up.

DraftKings DFS Centers

Rudy Gobert - C, vs PHI ($7,400)

The Philadelphia 76ers allow a ton of points per game and have been vulnerable defending centers throughout the 2016-2017 campaign. Joel Embiid will certainly do all he can to keep this game close, but my money is on Rudy Gobert to pick up his 12th straight double-double. Gobert is also a consistent multiple blocks threat, and recently picked up six against the Sacramento Kings earlier in the month. The Sixers also surrender the eighth most opponent rebounds per game. This is a dream matchup for a reliable center sitting at an appealing price.

Tyson Chandler - C, vs TOR ($4,500)

The Toronto Raptors have been surprisingly bad against centers this season. Even with Jonas Valanciunas, the Raptors have relinquished the third most fantasy points to the position. Chandler is very affordable and is as much a double-double threat as the aforementioned Gobert. Chandler will likely lose some minutes to Alex Len, but should continue to see the bulk of playing time at center for the Suns.
