Week 7 SNF Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 7:
Emmett Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs running back Emmett Johnson continues to generate some fantasy appeal in deeper leagues, especially after catching two of three targets for 18 receiving yards in Week 6. Although Johnson is averaging just 4.5 fantasy points per game in PPR leagues, his respectable target total can't be ignored. Even more intriguing than his target share, though, is his role as the handcuff behind Kenneth Walker.
Walker has been exceptional in a workhorse role this season, ranking as the overall RB2 with 24.0 touches per game. If Walker were to ever miss time, those would be enormous shoes to fill, leaving Johnson in an immediate fantasy-relevant role.
He's a mere stash for now, but he has the potential to be a weekly top-24 running back in the event that Kansas City's primary running back suffers an injury. As a result, Johnson is an intriguing waiver wire target in 12+ team leagues, especially for fantasy managers who already have Walker on their rosters.
Emanuel Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson seems likely to get one more crack at the starting gig with Zach Charbonnet (knee) ruled out for Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Wilson's effectiveness in fantasy this season has come on the back of four touchdowns.
Otherwise, Wilson is averaging 3.48 yards per carry behind a struggling offensive line and running scheme. Things do not project to get much better in Week 7 against a Chiefs defense allowing 63.8 yards per game to opposing running backs.
Wilson's best bet for a quality fantasy day will be to receive a couple of goal line carries and find his way into the end zone. Seattle's rotation includes Velus Jones Jr. and George Holani. Jones especially looked much more explosive than Wilson in Week 6 against the Denver Broncos.
Wilson still projects to receive the lion's share of carries in this offense, but proceed with caution as his snap share in Week 6 fell to a measly 32%. However, volume alone could help Wilson deliver flex value in Week 7.
Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed could see decent volume in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs. Shaheed received eight targets in Week 6 with Seattle seemingly attempting to find answers in the passing game outside of Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Shaheed managed to record five receptions for 66 yards. He would have had an even better fantasy day were it not for a lost fumble.
If Seattle is serious about featuring more pass catchers, Shaheed figures to benefit. He currently sits second on the team in targets with 27. He is only catching 51.8% of those targets, so there is definitely room for improvement there. Shaheed faces a tough matchup in Week 7. Kansas City is No. 1 against opposing wide receivers in fantasy this season.
They are allowing 112.2 receiving yards per game and just 16.08 fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts. Shaheed's best bet for fantasy value in Week 7 will come via a big play or solid volume if the Chiefs build a lead against Seattle. This is not a week in which you should start Shaheed, but if he receives solid volume again, he will be a player worth putting on the fantasy radar.
Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will likely be a focal point of the offense as the team heads to Seattle this weekend. Kelce was listed on the injury report with an ankle injury that he sustained early in last week's game, but he was healthy enough to finish the contest and logged a limited practice on Friday so he should be good to go.
Kelce had a serviceable game in Week 6 against the Los Angeles Chargers, catching four passes for 53 yards on five targets. The veteran tight end did not find the end zone last week but his 53 yards were the second-most on the team just behind Xavier Worthy. Kelce will now have to face the tough Seattle defense on the road in Week 7.
The Seahawks are arguably the most well-rounded defense in football, but the position that most often finds success against them is tight end. With wide receiver Rashee Rice out another game with his hamstring injury, Kelce should continue to see a high volume of targets from quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Kelce is ranked TE8 in our RotoBaller Week 7 PPR rankings, making him a solid TE1 option this week. Fantasy managers should feel confident starting Kelce this Sunday, but be prepared for a potentially low-scoring affair.
