Week 2 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 2:
Jordan Addison, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison should be considered a volatile WR4 option in Week 2, albeit one facing an excellent matchup against the Chicago Bears. Despite the Vikings scoring 39 points in Week 1, the fourth-year receiver didn't record a catch on just two targets. The Vikings also will be starting backup quarterback Carson Wentz again, as Minnesota already ruled out starter Kyler Murray (concussion).
The Bears' defense, however, ranks 29th in air yards allowed and surrendered 351 yards passing to Carolina last week.
While Addison is always in fellow receiver Justin Jefferson's shadow, the circumstances suggest a few high-value targets could be coming Addison's way this week. Managers who played Addison in Week 1 can't be faulted for feeling like Charlie Brown lining up to kick the football again, but the matchup is favorable enough that Addison is at least worthy of consideration for a flex spot, especially in deeper formats.
Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed was quiet in Week 1 despite a 66% snap share. That figures to change in Week 2 against the Arizona Cardinals. Shaheed's involvement in the offense seemed to be increasing beyond what we saw in 2025. He earned three targets and had a play drawn up specifically for him out of the backfield that was nullified by a penalty.
This team wants to get Shaheed the ball, and Week 2 should provide fantasy managers with a better indication as to whether his involvement will be fantasy-relevant. Seattle's offense as a whole was sloppy in Week 1. Quarterback Drew Lock had to step in early, and it took the team an entire half to find its legs. That should change in a much easier matchup in Week 2.
If it continues to be clear that Seattle wants to feature Shaheed in this offense, he will be worth holding beyond Week 2. Leave him on your bench for one more week to see what happens.
TreVeyon Henderson, New England Patriots
New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson will make his season debut on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Henderson missed Week 1 due to an ankle injury, but his absence was short-lived, as he has been cleared to return in Week 2 against the Pittsburgh Steelers. At this point, we expect Henderson to share snaps with Rhamondre Stevenson, who drew the start in the season opener.
Stevenson had 23 touches last week, and he played a major role in the receiving game. We wouldn't be shocked to see both Henderson and Stevenson log at least 10-15 touches this Sunday, especially with wide receiver A.J. Brown (ankle) no longer involved on offense after he was placed on injured reserve. Henderson has jumped to RB41 in RotoBaller's latest fantasy football rankings, but managers would be justified starting him as an RB3/flex in Week 2.
Kaelon Black, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers running back Kaelon Black (groin) made a good first impression in his NFL debut last week. Black handled 14 carries for 65 yards and caught one pass for five receiving yards in the 49ers' Week 1 win over the Rams. San Francisco was in the driver's seat for much of the game, affording them the luxury of rotating Black into the backfield regularly in an effort to keep Christian McCaffrey fresh.
Black was added to the injury report on Thursday due to groin tightness and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. With the 49ers heavily favored, Black started the week as a flex candidate in an expected blowout, but his updated status makes him a risky start. If Black is restricted, then fellow backup Jordan James might spell McCaffrey, with wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. potentially seeing some backfield work as well.
Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back Bucky Irving looks to build off his strong season opener versus the Cleveland Browns in Week 2. Irving was great on the ground and had a ton of success through the air as well in Week 1. He rushed eight times for 45 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in all seven of his targets for 48 yards and another score in the loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
Irving is looking like he can be a reliable dual-threat option in this offense. He should continue to find success against a Browns defense that allowed 4.8 yards per carry in the season opener. Fantasy managers should consider Irving a high-end RB2 for this upcoming Week 2 contest.
