Hideki Matsuyama stayed hot at the Rocket Classic, recording a T5 finish after gaining more than 7.4 strokes on approach, his fourth straight result of T14 or better. He now turns to the Wyndham Championship, where he has four top-20 finishes and five missed cuts in nine career starts. This season, Matsuyama ranks 25th in total strokes gained (+0.782 strokes per round), 29th on approach (+0.397), eighth around the green (+0.444), and 78th in putting (+0.057). He is also around average in driving accuracy, ranking 74th, an important stat at Sedgefield.
