Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault suffered a skate cut on his hand during Sunday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs and was taken to the hospital, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports. He finished with 7:15 of ice time, logging one hit and two penalty minutes. On Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres, Legault recorded his first career points, scoring a goal and providing an assist. He entered the lineup late last month due to a high number of injuries on the Hurricanes' blue line. Now, Legault faces a spell on the sidelines himself. Gavin Bayreuther will likely be the next man up in Carolina's defense.--Taavi Pailk
