Jorge Soler to Continue Testing for Lower-Back Inflammation
Jorge Soler (back) will continue to receive testing after being placed on the injured list for lower back inflammation. This is the 33-year-old's second stint on the IL this season due to back issues. Montgomery said that Soler does not have a timetable for his return, but he is staying optimistic that he will return at some point this season. Soler is running out of time to return and have a fantasy impact. He was in the midst of a down offensive season before going on the IL, slashing .215/.293/.387 with 12 home runs and 34 RBI in 315 plate appearances. 26-year-old Bryce Teodosio should continue to see playing time in Soler's absence. Teodosio showed high batting average, power, and speed skills in his time with Triple-A Salt Lake, so he could be worth a look in deep five-outfielder leagues.
