Matt Chapman to Start Triple-A Rehab Assignment Friday
Matt Chapman (hand) successfully got through a batting practice session against a high-velocity machine on Thursday. He's now ready to go on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, according to Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle. Chapman is hopeful that he'll return to the Giants during their weekend series against the Athletics. The Giants have gone without him since he went on the 10-day injured list on June 9 with a sprained right hand. The 32-year-old was swinging a hot bat at the time and has slashed .243/.360/.452 with 12 homers, 30 RBI, 35 runs scored, and seven steals in 272 plate appearances.
