Chase Petty Effective Across Five Innings on Tuesday
Chase Petty allowed two runs on two hits and two walks while striking out one over five innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Indianapolis. Petty was not overpowering in this outing, with only three whiffs on 25 swings. The velocity on his pitches was slightly down across the board as well. The 22-year-old is coming off a strong month of June, recording a 2.29 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, and 18:7 K:BB in 19.2 innings. The right-hander has gotten a taste of the big leagues this year, but got blasted for nine runs in his MLB debut. He would make for a deep league or NL-only add if he were to return to the majors.
