Jordan Westburg Expected to Return to the Lineup This Week
Jordan Westburg (finger) is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday or Friday this week. Per interim manager, Tony Mansolino, he said, “I do think Westy is doing well. We had to decide on whether he would get in the lineup tonight earlier, and he was probably closer than we thought. I think all indications are we’ll probably see him Wednesday, and if we don’t see him tomorrow, we’ll see him Friday", Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Westburg missed his third game in a row on Tuesday with a sprained left index finger, and it sounds like he will return to the lineup soon, possibly even Wednesday. Westburg injured his finger last Saturday while sliding into second base, and although X-rays did not reveal any structural damage, it did sideline him for a handful of days. Fantasy managers can expect to insert him back into their lineups sooner rather than later. Westburg has left fantasy managers with much to be desired, slashing only .229/.289/.435 with seven home runs, 14 RBI, and 20 runs scored in 131 at-bats.
