Luis Robert Jr. Drives in Three in Victory Over Royals
Luis Robert had a big Friday night in the team's 7-2 win over the Kansas City Royals. His two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning broke a 2-2 tie, and the White Sox never looked back. It was the high point of a 2-for-3, three-RBI performance for Robert, who was stuck in a 1-for-20 slump entering the game and hadn't played since Monday. The White Sox gave Robert off Tuesday and Wednesday for a mental break, and then he missed Thursday's game after a ball ricocheted and hit him in the head during batting practice. An All-Star just two years ago, Robert's numbers have dropped off the table since then. He's off to a horrid start this year with a .185/.275/.292 line and five HRs in 225 plate appearances. To his credit, Robert has raised his walk percentage to 11.1 - by far a career high - and has already stolen 21 bases.
