Marcell Ozuna Collects Hit in Loss to Nationals
Marcell Ozuna went 1-for-4 with a strikeout in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Washington Nationals. The performance snapped a two-game home run streak for Ozuna, who has gone deep three times this month and has totaled eight HRs in 197 plate appearances this season. Ozuna's power has dropped from the previous two seasons, during which he combined for 79 homers and a .263 ISO, but there has still been plenty to like about his output in 2025. He's walking at a career-best 20.3 percent clip, which is significantly higher than his lifetime mark of 8.7, and that increase in patience has helped lead to a terrific .266/.416/.461 line with a .388 wOBA. Ozuna's xwOBA (.422) suggests his impressive numbers should improve as the season progresses. He'll match up Wednesday against a familiar face in struggling Nationals right-hander Trevor Williams. Ozuna has never homered off Williams, but he has gone a solid 11-of-35 with two walks and two strikeouts in 37 matchups.
