Rangers To Be Extra Cautious With Corey Seager This Time
Corey Seager (hamstring) landed on the 10-day injured list with a right-hamstring strain on Tuesday for the second time in less than two weeks. It's similar to the injury that kept him out from April 23 to May 2, but manager Bruce Bochy said Seager's current strain is "in a little different area" of his hamstring. "We want to make sure that this thing is healed up," Bochy said. "We don't want him playing at 75, 80 percent. It could be [more than 10 days]. I don't know for sure." Despite the hammy setbacks this year, the two-time World Series MVP has hit a strong .300/.346/.520 in 26 games in 2025. In his last game on Saturday, he recorded two homers and a double. Josh Smith missed the last few games with a minor back injury but returned for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Rockies, and he should see most of the playing time at the 6 until Seager returns, which might not be until later this month.
