Tommy Henry Promoted To Major Leagues
Tommy Henry from Triple-A Reno. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks have optioned right-handed pitcher Scott McGough to Triple-A Reno. Henry will be making his first stint in Arizona this season. Last summer, the southpaw logged 38 1/3 innings in the desert to the tune of a 7.04 ERA and a 1.75 WHIP. During this stint, Henry struck out just 30 batters and served up walks at a high 9.9 percent rate. In 2023, Henry held a 4.15 ERA with a 1.36 WHIP across a career-high 89 innings of work. Fantasy managers should expect Henry to provide depth out of the bullpen. If he pitches well, he could eventually earn a long relief role, especially with both Merrill Kelly (hamstring) and Corbin Burnes (shoulder) dealing with injuries.
