Luis Rengifo Out After Having Root Canal
Luis Rengifo (mouth) is out of Tuesday's starting lineup against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates after having a root canal on Monday, according to manager Ron Washington. Rengifo was cleared to play, but Washington wanted Kevin Newman to get a chance to play against Pirates left-hander Bailey Falter, who he has gone 5-for-11 against in his career. Newman is starting at third base and is batting in the nine-hole for the Halos, though, so he will still be a poor choice for DFS lineups with little fantasy upside. Fantasy managers should expect Rengifo to return to the Angels' starting lineup at third base on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Venezuelan infielder has gotten off to a slow start offensively in 2025, going 17-for-78 (.218) with a homer, seven RBI, no steals and eight runs scored in his first 21 games played.
