Austin Eckroat finished the PLAYERS Championship at T61, marking the first time this season he has made consecutive cuts. He now aims to build on this at the Texas Children's Houston Open, an event he has played in once before, missing the cut in 2022. This week, players will be tested across all aspects of their game, particularly emphasizing the short game. Eckroat ranks 166th in strokes gained around the green (minus-0.414 per round) and 88th in putting (0.026). He makes up strokes off the tee with 0.291 strokes gained per round, ranking 88th on tour. However, he ranks in just the 25th percentile for proximity from 150-200 yards this season, a distance that accounted for 38.1% of all approach shots here last year. Given his recent form and struggles with his short game, it's best to avoid Eckroat this week.--Dakota Legg - RotoBaller
