Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (ankle) is yet another massively talented player who has struggled to stay healthy. He had a monster league-winning season in 2021, finishing as the overall RB1 in all formats and scoring 21.7 PPR fantasy points per game.
He got off to an excellent start in 2024 before the injury bug struck again, and he was pulled from his Week 4 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He hasn't returned to action since. He hasn't played 15 or more games since his sophomore season, so this is par for the course.

Jonathan Taylor Injury Update for Fantasy Football
He's still recovering from the high ankle sprain he suffered in Week 4. Typically, these are two-to-four-week injuries, and he's now missed his second consecutive game. There's a solid chance he could return for Week 7 when the Colts take on the Miami Dolphins.
As is the case with many high ankle injuries, it may not be until the final list of inactive players is released that fantasy managers will have a clear answer to whether he will play.

There's likely no clear timeline for return because the nature of the injury is fickle. The only thing left to do is to wait for the ailment to heal.
Jonathan Taylor Fantasy Football Outlook
He's a must-start and has the volume, talent, and supporting cast to put up RB1 numbers every week. He has one of the best workhorse roles in the NFL, earning 16, 14, 24, and 24 touches in his four games played this season. He's the clear lead back on a team that doesn't have much other talent at the position.

His backup running backs, Trey Sermon and Tyler Goodson, have minimal-to-nonexistent roles in Taylor's presence. The fifth-year pro has scored double-digit fantasy points in all four games he's played and sees a lion's share of the snaps when healthy. He is the guy in Indy.

As long as he can stay healthy, he should continue to have a monster season if the offensive line can stay intact. He'll face the very poor Dolphins rush defense, and if he can suit up for Week 7, he could easily put up another eye-popping stat line.
