Darnell Mooney fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks for Week 5 (2024). Should you start or sit Darnell Mooney for fantasy football lineups?
BALLER MOVE: Start in 10+ Team Leagues
POSITIONAL VALUE: Flex
ANALYSIS: Darnell Mooney is a solid Flex option for Week 5 in fantasy football as he faces off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Last week, Mooney saw six targets, catching three for 56 yards, demonstrating his role as a reliable deep threat in the Falcons' offense. While his stat line wasn’t overwhelming, the volume of targets shows that he remains a key part of the passing attack.
Mooney's speed and ability to stretch the field could lead to more explosive opportunities against a Tampa Bay secondary that has struggled at times this season, allowing big plays through the air.
With Kirk Cousins at quarterback, Mooney's chances for a productive game increase, as Cousins has been excellent at getting the ball to his wideouts. If the Falcons find themselves in a competitive matchup against Tampa Bay, Cousins could rely on Mooney as a key playmaker.
WR Darnell Mooney (ATL): Mooney put up a respectable line going 3/6 for 56 yards. Cousins likes to throw to him, and he can definitely be a cheap source of points if you’re in need at WR. Inconsistent, but play the matchups as needed. pic.twitter.com/F8upjk2qJk

His ability to work in both the short and deep passing game makes him a versatile weapon for Cousins, and in a potential pass-heavy script, Mooney could see even more targets.
As a Flex option, he offers a combination of volume and big-play potential, making him a smart play in Week 5.
