Week 1 Wide Receiver Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Cooper Kupp, Los Angeles Rams - Fantasy Football Outlook

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is fully healthy to begin the season and has the potential to perform as a WR1 in a favorable matchup at the Lions in Week 1. Despite the emergence of last year's rookie breakout Puka Nacua, Kupp remains a favorite target of quarterback Matthew Stafford. His ability to move around the formation helps him get isolated in one-on-one coverage, where he can use his shiftiness and route-running savvy to beat opposing defenders.

The Lions drafted Terrion Arnold and signed Carlton Davis III in the offseason, and each could see time defending Kupp in Week 1. In a potential shootout played in dome conditions, look for Kupp to score a touchdown and potentially get to 100+ receiving yards in the opening week of the season.

- Brian Buckey, RotoBaller

Jaylen Waddle, Miami Dolphins - Fantasy Football Outlook

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle (undisclosed) is ready to roll against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the team's home opener. The former sixth-overall pick has a fantastic matchup in Week 1, as he'll square off against a Jags' defense that allowed 4,076 yards and 27 scores through the air a season ago -- both seventh-most in the league. Waddle wore a non-contact jersey for the last week of training camp, but both he and teammate Tyreek Hill (thumb) returned to full practice earlier this week.

The Alabama product regressed a bit in the yards category last season compared to 2022, while Hill performed at an other-worldly level. However, the fourth-year wideout still garnered a solid 23.6% target share and robust 2.52 yards per route run last season and is again the unquestioned second option in Miami's passing attack.

Waddle is RotoBaller's PPR WR17 in Week 1 rankings and is always a threat to have a huge game -- particularly against a Jacksonville unit that did nothing too extensive to improve their defensive backfield.

- Alex Ciulla, RotoBaller

Tank Dell, Houston Texans - Fantasy Football Outlook

Electric as a rookie last season, Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell and his new role on the team will be one of fantasy football's big questions heading into Week 1 against the Indianapolis Colts. He compiled 709 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in just 11 games last season, drew an 18.4% target share, and finished the year with a big-play-worthy 14.3 average depth of target.

But this season, Houston added Stefon Diggs to the fold, which likely will shift Dell into a slot role when he's on the field with Diggs and Nico Collins. Dell and Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud had chemistry last season, but the 24-year-old looks like a boom-or-bust fantasy option on this Texans offense. With a favorable matchup against Indianapolis, Dell is a high-end WR2 and currently WR26 in the latest Week 1 rankings from RotoBaller.
